Xiaomi held an event in China today where it unveiled a slew of interesting products. The Redmi Note 12 gang certainly stole the show with 200MP cameras and 210W charging. However, the company also took the opportunity to unveil a new slim laptop. The Xiaomi Book Air 13.
Xiaomi Book Air 13 specifications
The Xiaomi Book Air 13 has an appeal to portability, with a super slim profile and lightweight body. The laptop boasts a 13.3-inch OLED screen with 2,880 x 1,800 pixels of resolution. It’s the so-called 2.8K resolution. The panel also brings Gorilla Glass 3 for protection against scratches. This is useful since the laptop boasts a touchscreen and the hinge can flip the touchscreen. The display also supports Dolby Vision and is HDR 500 certified. It supports DC dimming against PWM and has 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi Book Air 13 boasts a 12th Gen Intel Core CPU. There are two possible configurations – one with the Core i5-1230U and another with the Core i7-1250U CPU. In either case, you get 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM with 5,200 MHz and 512 GB of PCIe 4.0 SSD storage. The laptop also has an 8 MP selfie snapper for video conferences. Moreover, it has Wi-Fi 6E support and Bluetooth 5.2. The laptop runs Windows 11 straight out of the box.
Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos
Multimedia will be perfectly enjoyable in the Xiaomi Book Air 13, and the audio will be immersive thanks to Dolby Atmos stereo speakers. There are two tweeter speakers to improve it even further. The device also comes with 2 x Thunderbolt 4 connectors and a 3.5mm audio jack. The whole system boasts a 58.3 Wh battery with a 65W charging adapter.
Now going for the so-called “slim profile”. The Xiaomi Book Air 13 is just 12 mm thick and weighs around 1.2 kg. Some won’t be happy with the fact that it is available only in a White colorway. White is the predominant color, but the borders have a gold finish. For now, there is no word regarding to global launch, but we expect this product to not stay exclusive to the Chinese market.
