The Redmi Note 12 5G smartphone appeared on the BIS certification website ahead of its imminent launch in India. To recap, Xiaomi recently brought the Redmi Note 12 series smartphones into the Chinese market.
Notably, Redmi Note 12 series sold over a whopping 350,000 units in just one hour. For those unaware, the Note 12 series comprises Note 12 5G, Note 12 Pro, Note 12 Pro Plus, and the Note 12 Explorer Edition.
According to MIUI tester Kacper Skrzypek, the Note 12 Pro+ 5G will launch in India as the Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge. Now, the Indian variant of the Note 12 Pro+ 5G has passed through the BIS website.
First off, the BIS listing confirms the device has model number 22101316UP. Xiaomi is reportedly prepping to launch the Redmi Note 12 5G as a Poco phone in the Indian market.
Moreover, the vanilla Note 12 5G could break cover later this month. The Poco phone likely to hit the store shelves in India has been spotted in the BIS database by Twitter user Simranpal Singh.

The alleged Poco phone carries model number 22111317PI. The device’s shortened model number is M17. Interestingly, the Chinese Note 12 5G has the same shortened model number.

This is a major sign that the device will launch in India under the Poco branding. Moreover, a report MySmartPrice suggests the Redmi Note 12 5G will launch in India later this month.
However, details about the Indian variant’s moniker are still scarce. Nevertheless, this purported handset could make its debut as the 5G-ready version of the Poco M5.
However, Poco has neither confirmed nor denied this speculation yet. Also, the brand is mum on its plan to launch the Redmi Note 12 5G in India. Nevertheless, Poco could be on the verge of sharing these details.
The Redmi Note 12 5G smartphone’s specifications are not a mystery. The phone sports a 6.67-inch OLED panel with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, it packs a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC. Also, the phone uses a 5000mAh battery to draw its juices. Moreover, this cell supports 33W fast charging.
For optics, the device houses a 48MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor on the back. Upfront, it has an 8MP shooter for selfies and video calling.
