The market of Android tablets is trending again, and companies such as Samsung need to affirm their presence there. To recall, Samsung always bet on the segment despite the lackluster experience. The demand grew after the pandemic and a lot of brands decided to join the category. Even Google had a change of heart and started to improve the experience for tablets on Android. Now, the Korean brand needs to keep launching compelling products to all ranges in order to keep its margin. Apparently, the brand is preparing a new device with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE moniker.
Way back in September a device believed to be the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE passed by Geekbench. The device had an SM-X506B model number and the “Birdie” codename. As per the reports, this is the new FE tablet. Now, the tipster Roland Quandt confirms the fact, it’s the Galaxy Tab S8 FE.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE specs tipped
The new Galaxy Tab S8 FE will bring an LCD panel just like its predecessor. It’s not AMOLED like the premium models. However, we expect a larger LCD screen. Moreover, it will retain the Wacom Digitizer for native stylus support. As per the Geekbench result, the website packs the MediaTek Kompanio 900T SoC. It is a 6nm chip with 2 x ARM Cortex-A78 cores with a 2.4 GHz clock speed. The benchmark shows 2.6 GHz, so it could be a tweaked version. There are more than 6 x ARM Cortex-A55 cores for power efficiency and a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. This basically the tablet-centric version of the MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE will come in 5G and Wi-Fi versions. The Samsung SM-X506 is the 5G variant, while the Wi-Fi model will carry the model number Samsung SM-X500. During the ran, the tablet was running Android 13. That means One UI 5.0 will be running on top, or even One UI 5.1. It depends on the release timeline. This variant has 4 GB of RAM, but we expect other options as this should be the base model.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE may come at a €650 price tag for the Wi-Fi model, and €750 for the variant with 5G. However, this is just speculation considering the price of the previous model at launch. We expect Samsung to come out with more details soon. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series arrived earlier this year with a base price of $699.
