Chinese brand, Xiaomi, usually releases special models of its best selling phones. These special models are usually in cooperation with companies or individuals. Just about a month ago, the company officially released the Xiaomi 12T Pro. Since its release, the sales of this phone have been pretty decent. Recently, Xiaomi officially released the Daniel Arsham Edition of the Xiaomi 12T Pro. The Daniel Arsham Edition was developed with a New York-based artist. The artist put in a lot of work on the design of this device. The Xiaomi 12T Pro now looks like a carving “with a purpose outside of it as a functional object”.
The specs of this phone are the same as the regular model. It uses the same SD 8+ Gen 1 chip as well as a 200 MP main camera. However, this device only has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage options. Furthermore, it comes with a new design of the back panel. The back panel is now green with shining crystals that have a copper colour. The light angle on the rear makes the crystals shine with varying colours.

The benefit of a Daniel Arsham Xiaomi 12T Pro
According to Daniel Arsham, this device will not go to waste. He claims that even after 20 years, the original owners of this device can still have it but only as a “trophy” object. Thus, beyond its functions, this device also has some history for the user. The rear of the device uses multiple textures. Thus, it is a result of Arsham’s carving “propositions of obsolescence and natural erosions on a smartphone”. According to Xiaomi, the work is “towards an imagined future of digital dematerialization”.
