Vivo is in the spotlight thanks to the release of the Vivo X90 series. These phones bring impressive specs such as ZEISS cameras with the company’s Vivo V2 ISP. Also, we can’t forget the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 that makes its first appearance in the market through the Vivo X90 Pro+. However, Vivo is not only about flagship and premium specs. Today, the company is unveiling the Vivo Y02. The device joins the existing Vivo Y02s with modest specifications and a super-affordable price.
Vivo Y02 specifications
The Vivo Y02 is here for less exigent users that just want a phone for basic tasks. If you want an affordable phone to use on social media, web browsing, watching videos, or even playing lightweight games, the phone is perfect. It comes with an Octa-Core chipset, but the exact identity is unclear. It can either be an Unisoc chipset or an Helio G-series SoC. Anyway, the phone is paired with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of Internal Storage. For today’s standards, 32 GB is not much, so you’ll need to handle your storage frequently. Thankfully, there is a micro SD card slot so you can store your data files.
Gizchina News of the week
The Vivo Y02 brings a 6.51-inch HD+ LCD screen with a notch for the 5 MP selfie camera. Moving around the back, there is a single 8 MP shooter with a LED flash. The Vivo Y02 is 8.49 mm thin and has a 2.5D flat frame with a matte finish. According to Vivo, this is scratch and fingerprint-resistant.
The phone packs a 5,000 mAh battery that charges through a micro USB port at up to 10W. The phone also has a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Unfortunately, there is no fingerprint scanner. So you’ll need to use the Face Unlock feature for biometric authentication. As a low-end phone, we have Android 12 Go with FuntouchOS 12 running on top.
The Vivo Y02 comes in Orchid Blue and Cosmic Grey colors. The price is appealing at IDR 1,499,000 which is $95. The phone is up for grabs in Indonesia through Shopee. The Vivo Y02 will also be sold through Tokopedia and Vivo’s official Indonesian website.
