Today was a big day for Tecno as the company presented its very first flagship phones – Tecno Phantom X2 and Phantom X2 Pro. These devices come with compelling specs such as Dimensity 9000, 120 Hz OLED displays, and capable cameras. The Pro has the first retractable portrait camera on the market. But phones are not the only compelling products coming today. The company is presenting a premium laptop the Tecno MegaBook S1.
Tecno MegaBook S1 specifications
The Tecno MegaBook S1 is a super thin laptop with just 13.5 mm of thickness. It’s also lightweight at just 1.35 kg. That comes around a 15.6-inch LCD screen with a 3.2K resolution. Furthermore, it comes with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The Tecno MegaBook S1 also brings a 120 Hz refresh rate and 100% sRGB coverage. It is also quite bright with 450 nits, and thanks to DC-dimming it won’t flicker.
The Tecno MegaBook S1 is an upgrade with the 12th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU. It comes with dual-fan cooling to ensure the maximum performance of this 35W TDP CPU. The processor comes paired with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. In terms of storage, you can choose between 512 GB and 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSDs.
Despite the low weight, the laptop features a large 70Wh battery. You can charge via one of the laptop’s USB Type-C ports, with the bundled 65W GaN charge. There are also two USB-A ports, 1 x HDMI, 1 x 3.5 mm headphone audio jack, and a MicroSD card reader.

The Tecno MegaBook S1 runs Windows 11 straight out of the box with special features for Tecno phones. When there is NFC, you can pair it quickly with a Tecno phone. You’ll be able to see the phone’s screen on the laptop through the OneLeap feature.
The interesting features don’t end here. The Tecno MegaBook S1 also brings 6 speakers and DTS:X Ultra support. Moreover, there are two microphones on board with AI-powered noise cancellation for calls. The built-in webcam has AI, so you can set virtual backgrounds and there is also a Face Beauty feature. It can detect when someone is peeking over your shoulder and it will blank the screen.
Pricing and Availability
The laptop will reach select markets, and won’t be cheap. The 512 GB option comes at $1,500 whereas the 1 TB storage will cost $1,600. However, these prices are on par with the premium laptops that we often see in the market.
Tecno is rising in the smartphone scene and hopes to do the same in the laptop segment. We believe that the Tecno MegaBook S1 basically is the push into the flagship segment of laptops, just like the Tecno Phantom X2 Pro represents a push in the brand’s smartphone business.
