The Vivo X90 5G smartphone appeared on the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) website ahead of its impending launch in India.
To recap, the Vivo X90 series went official in China last month. Now, it looks like Vivo is gearing up for the X-series smartphone’s India launch.
Notably, the X90 series comprises the Vivo X90, X90 Pro, and X90 Pro+ 5G smartphones. The X90 is the base model that sits at the bottom of the series.
Vivo is reportedly prepping to unveil the standard Vivo X90 along with the X90 Pro and X90 Pro+ in India next year. In the meantime, the Vivo X90 has passed through India’s BIS certification website.
Vivo X90 Appears On BIS Website Ahead Of India Launch
First off, the BIS listing reveals the X90 5G global variant’s model number. The entry-level X-series flagship phone is likely to launch in India either in January or February 2023.
However, Vivo is still mum on its plan to unveil the next-gen X-series phone in the country. Still, it is safe to assume that the Vivo X90 is headed to the Indian market since the device has been spotted on the BIS website.
Gizchina News of the week
Moreover, the BIS listing reveals that the Vivo X90 5G Indian variant has model number V2218. The phone was originally spotted on the certification website by MySmartPrice.
Regrettably, the BIS listing does not reveal any key details about the Vivo X90. However, the X90 series appeared on the Geekbench database with model number V2241A last month.
Also, the Vivo X90 is already available for purchase in China. So, the Indian variant might have the same set of hardware as the Chinese model.
In other words, the X90 will sport a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1280×2800 pixels. The screen might also support a 120Hz refresh rate.
The phone will get a triple rear camera setup featuring a 50MP Sony IMX866 main camera. Also, it will house a 12MP ultrawide and a 12MP portrait lens on the back.
For selfies, the X90 will use a 32MP front shooter. Under the hood, it will pack a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC. The phone’s 4,810mAh battery will support 120W fast charging.
Lastly, the Indian variant of the X90 will oot Android 13 OS with Funtouch OS 13 on top. That’s pretty decent specifications in my opinion.
