Here’s Your First Look at the Vivo X Flip

Vivo

Vivo did already release a new foldable phone pretty recently, which is the Vivo X Fold+. It came out in late September. But according to Digital Chat Station, the brand is all set to release another foldable phone, the Vivo X Flip. We did recently come to know a little about its specification. However, we had no idea about what the device might look like.

Well, Digital Chat Station has just revealed the schematic of the new X flip. And it seems like a phone that can definitely worry the Galaxy Flip series a little.

Vivo X Flip Design

One of the main issues about foldable flip phones is the small external display. From recent rumors, we came to know that Samsung has been working on their Flip series to fix this issue. But Vivo might be the first one to implement the change.

As you can see from the schematic, the Vivo X Flip is set to come with a rectangular external display. The display sits right below the multi-camera cutout and will likely be relatively large. What’s the big deal about a large external display?

Well, this large-sized display will make the external display of the foldable much more usable. To give you a perspective, the primary use cases for the current Samsung Flip series are for notifications and the camera. But when the external display is relatively large in size, it gains the ability to run apps, which is always a good thing.

Camera Module

The Vivo X Flip’s camera cutout is not telling us much about the camera combo that the phone might have. However, we speculate that it might come with two or three sensors and one LED flash. All of them will be within the circular cutout on the external frame.

Gizchina News of the week

Vivo has been recently using the Zeiss branding for its cameras. We expect to see the same with the Vivo X Flip. Wondering what sensors will the Vivo X Flip come with? Judging by the combination of the X Flip+, there can be one 50 MP primary camera, one 12 MP telephoto, and one 8 MP periscope or 48 MP ultrawide.

However, there is a chance that the X Flip might include all four cameras found in the X Fold+. In that case, the LED flash will not be within the circular cutout. Instead, it will be on the right side of the device, as found on the X Fold+.

Core Specifications of the Vivo X Flip

So, earlier today, we got a sneak peek into what the core specifications of the X Flip might be. Again, this info came from Digital Chat Station. Nonetheless, according to the leak, the X Flip will be powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU.

Yes, it is not the latest and the greatest from Qualcomm. That would be the 8 Gen 2. However, the 8+ Gen 1 is still considered to be a flagship processor. So, even with the last-gen chip, the Vivo X Flip will not disappoint in terms of performance.

Can the Vivo X Flip Take on the Competition

We have seen a lot of great flip phones lately. For example, there is the Huawei P Pocket Series, Moto Razr devices, and, most importantly, there is the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5. For Vivo X Flip to make headlines with its latest Flip phone, it needs to do a lot of things right.

That said, from the schematic, it seems like the brand is on the right track. A large external display is surely going to dominate the foldable flip phone market. Now, it depends on the hinge, cameras, and other crucial factors of the phone.

Nonetheless, we are expecting to get more info about the phone in the upcoming days as the device is set to arrive on the market in early 2023. When we get those, more doubts about the device should clear up.
