OPPO held a new product launch conference. At this event, it released a new folding-screen smartphone, namely the OPPO Find N2.
Design
The OPPO Find N2 has two versions, using lychee grain leather and glass. Plus, there are three colors of plain black, pine green, and cloud white. Among them, the plain black variant is made of leather, while the pine green and cloud white variants are made of glass. It adopts the AG frosting process. In effect, the back cover can show different color changes with the change of light.
Weight and hinge are the two key points of any foldable handset. In this regard, the OPPO Find N2 uses aerospace-grade materials to miniaturize the shape of the hinge. Also, it uses carbon fiber material as the screen support frame. In order to further reduce weight, the screws are replaced with custom titanium alloys.
As a result, the OPPO Find N2 weighs only 233g. Thus, it is the lightest horizontally folding smartphone on the glove. In comparison to some mainstream flagship phones, it is even lighter.
The OPPO Find N2 hinge is made of high-strength composite carbon fiber. It weighs less than half of the previous generation. But on the other hand, it nearly doubles the strength. The entire hinge parts are connected without a screw and are integrally formed.
Display
The internal screen of the phone uses a 7.1-inch Samsung E6 OLED screen with a ratio of 8.4:9, a resolution of 1792*1920, 370PPI, and a global peak brightness of 1200 nits. At the same time, the external screen is also made of Samsung E6 material. The size is 5.54 inches. The rest of the screen parameters include a 17.7:9 ratio, 2120*1080 resolution, 429PPI pixel density, and 100% P3 color gamut coverage. Both internal and external screens support a 120Hz refresh rate.
Gizchina News of the week
The OPPO Find N2 has passed the Rheinland Folding Worry-Free Certification 2022. After 216,000 times of bending tests, the creases are almost invisible to the naked eye. Plus, after 400,000 times of bending, the screen performance, hinges, and functions remain at a good level.
At the same time, OPPO Find N2 supports tent mode, adaptive UI layout, two-finger split screen, multi-page split screen, split screen screenshots, etc. You can even use the OPPO Pen stylus to take quick screenshots, capture photos remotely, and take notes.
Performance and Camera
Inside, the phone hosts the Snapdragon 8+ processor. The latter adopts TSMC’s 4nm process. Compared with the previous generation, the CPU performance is increased by 5%, the GPU performance is increased by 10%, and the power consumption is reduced by 30%.
The primary camera of the handset uses the Sony MX890 50-megapixel primary camera with a 1/1.56-inch outsole. There are also Sony IMX581 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and 32-megapixel 2X telephoto lenses. The selfie camera has a 32-megapixel resolution.
At the same time, the phone uses the new Mariana MariSilicon X 6nm image-specific NPU. With the blessing of 18 trillion computing power, the OPPO Find N2 can record 4K 30FPS videos even in a low light environment.
Also, the camera supports Hasselblad’s classic 65:24 wide format. It restores the classic 45mm lens and has two modes of grayscale and color.
