It has been evident over the past several months that not all Android features that Google previously made available only on Pixel phones will do so indefinitely. More Android handsets today are taking advantage of several features offered by Google services.
It doesn’t really matter which smartphone you use daily. At the base, they feature hardware and sensors that are remarkably similar. The use of the developer interfaces and Google’s willingness to make the features available via the Google Play services for Android devices made by other manufacturers are far more crucial. Google features are accessible, even though the Pixel series has to be strengthened.
The key to more Google Pixel features is Android 13
Gizchina News of the week
Back in the summer, there were some signs, and now some of the features are becoming more obvious. For the first non Pixel smartphones, Google, for instance, released its own gaming dashboard for other smartphones. One of them is the Nothing Phone (1), This feature provides Android 13’s useful function for gamers.
Third-party devices also have safety features. Among them are the Xperia smartphones from Sony. Beginning with Android 13, other companies can choose to use Google’s emergency app. And Sony and Nothing are hopping on board. The app is reportedly available on Vivo’s own devices as well.
It is unfortunate that none of the products from the manufacturers listed so far support the Context Hub. However, that would be required to support the car accident detection feature of the emergency app. Unfortunately, not much is going around here. German people have been waiting for the feature’s release for a long time.
It’s exciting that Google is still releasing new functions for Android in general, instead of reserving them exclusively for the Pixel series. It is certainly a means to an end to keep Google services attractive for Xiaomi, Vivo, Sony and Samsung.
