Honor took the wraps off the Honor 80 GT today, completing the Honor 80 series, but the device is not coming alone. Besides the gaming phone, the company also introduced the Honor Pad V8 Pro. That’s a powerful tablet with a big focus on media consumption. It’s the first tablet to come with an IMAX Enhanced display with a 144 Hz refresh rate. It also brings decent horsepower thanks to the Dimensity 8100 SoC. Let’s see what this gorgeous slate brings to the table.
Honor Pad V8 specifications
The Honor Pad V8 Pro packs a gorgeous 12.1-inch IPS LCD screen with 2,560 x 1,600 pixels of resolution. The device also has a 10-bit color depth, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, and a 144 Hz refresh rate. As per Honor, this is the first table to feature a 144 Hz refresh rate, and apparently, the company has truth in its words as there is no other tablet with a such screen in our records. Moreover, it certainly arrives as the first with an IMAX Enhanced certification.
The Pad V8 will stream content with IMAX standards without any hassle. It has been available on some TVs, and now you’ll get a huge tablet with high display capabilities. The slate also offers eight speakers with support for DTS:X surround.
Gizchina News of the week
Under the hood, the Honor Pad V8 Pro packs the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC. That’s a powerful chipset and it is one of the closest we will get from a flagship performance on a tablet. So far, most brands are opting for the Snapdragon 870 on tablets. The MediaTek Dimensity 8100 has certain advantages over the SD870. Moving on, the tablet comes in variants with 8 GB/128 GB, 8 GB/256 GB, and 12 GB/256 GB.
The camera setup is fairly simple, which is not a surprise for a tablet. We have the 13 MP f/2.0 main camera and a 5 MP selfie snapper with fixed focus. Obviously, the focus here is not photography. But you won’t be disappointed if you need to do video conferences with this slate.
The Honor Pad V8 Pro has a huge 10,050 mAh battery with support for 35 W charging. In terms of software, we have Android 12 with Magic UI 7.0. The tablet has pogo pints for a magnetic keyboard. Moreover, it has an active stylus pen too. So your productivity tasks will be granted with this tablet.
