Over the years, Google has not really taken its mobile phone business seriously. However, after the wide acceptance of the Google Pixel 6 series new design, the company is now taking the business to heart. The Google Pixel 7 series basically retains the design of the Pixel 6 series. However, it comes with upgrades in salient areas. Today, some users took to Reddit to lament the durability of the build materials of the Pixel 7 series. Some Pixel 7 users reported that the rear camera glass on the back of the fuselage gets broken easily. While we wish that this is just a single case, it is not. There have been several reports regarding the rear camera glass breaking at the slightest touch. There have been many user feedbacks on the Reddit community and the Twitter social platform.

On the Reddit community, netizen dalitortoise said: “I pulled my phone out of my pocket and the back camera glass was broken. I must have hit a corner while it was in my pocket. Has anyone else had this problem? I called around to he phone fixing stores and nobody has the replacement parts yet. Don’t really want to have to mail this phone in to have it fixed as it’s currently the only phone I have”.
Another Pixel 7 user also reported this problem on the Reddit community, and a uBreakiFix store said that the repair will involve replacing the entire backplane. This could cost $200. However, the Pixel 7 user sent photos of his device to Google, and Google eventually agreed to replace the device.
