Apple Maps, which is sometimes neglected in comparison to Google Maps, will soon be a little more helpful. Users will soon be able to access information on parking alternatives and availability close to a particular location.
Apple just unveiled a fascinating new function for its Maps app. Over 8,000 locations will now have parking information available on Apple Maps. Thanks to a partnership with the parking app SpotHero. The addition on top is that parking options can be selected based on amenities like electric vehicle charging stations, other accessibilities, the number of spaces, etc.
In over 300 locations across North America, SpotHero, a Chicago-based business started in 2011, connects drivers with thousands of parking spaces. To assist drivers in finding the best parking choice, it offers a data set of parking lots, images, and reviews.
Apple Maps gets a parking option
Users of the iPhone and Mac can use the Maps app to find a destination, then pick “More” and “Parking” to use this new function. They don’t have to exit the app because they are then taken to the SpotHero website.
Gizchina News of the week
“To use SpotHero, search for parking on our app or website before you arrive, choose the spot that suits you best, and reserve it. You’ll know there’s a spot waiting for you, taking the stress out of parking and allowing you to focus on the things that matter most”.
According to the parking site, users can use SpotHero’s safe payment choices to find nearby parking and reserve a space. Don’t count on using SpotHero to find free parking. Because the majority of the parking options it offers are pay options.
Unfortunately, as is frequently the case with Apple, this new option will only be available in North America. Before something like this comes to other countries, it will probably be several years.
Apple also declares that it will extend the overhaul of Maps. In December 2022, the new design was available in Belgium, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. As well as five other nations.
