Ubisoft has a lot of projects under development, and some games that simply disappeared from the radar. From the recently announced Assassin’s Creed Mirage to the remaster of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, the company has a lot of games. There are also a lot of other projects involving the AC franchise, and the upcoming Splinter Cell Remake. Many fans of the French Studio are eagerly waiting for news about these projects. As per Ubisoft, we can expect something at the E3 2023. The company’s CEO, Yves Guillemot says “If E3 happens, we will be there and we have a lot of things to show”.
The confirmation sounds like good news, especially when Ubisoft says it has a lot of things to show. The catch is exactly in the “If E3 happens”. Right now, there is no confirmation of the event will make a comeback this year. E3 disappeared in 2020, and so far, we haven’t seen a return.
Gizchina News of the week
Is E3 confirmed? Apparently, yes, and Ubisoft will be there
E3 was once the place to go when we wanted to see upcoming games. However, the event has been losing its relevancy in the past few years. Before the cancellation, Sony decided to stop presenting its games on the conference. The lack of PlayStation Studios games was a big hit in the annual fair. In 2020, we had the pandemic, and the E3 was cancelled for obvious reasons. Since then, studios have been opting for their own streamings, and there is also Geoff Keighley’s Summer Gave Festival. The online event emerged as an online replacement for E3, and so far, it has been a success.
There is still hope for E3 2023. Last year, the organizers shared some details about the event. It will have separate business and consumer events split between four days in June. Back in January, new E3 organizer stated that there is a “tremendous amount of interest” from many of “the biggest companies in the industry”. For that reason, he is confident that the event will be able to return.
Ubisoft has declined to make further comments. However, the studio’s presence in the event sounds like good news. Both Sony and Nintendo will not be present in the event. Sony is opting for its “State of Play” sreamings, and Nintendo has the “Nintendo Direct”. There is a huge trend for online-only events. When it comes to Ubisoft, the company will be able to keep its tradition of 20 years attending to E3.
As per rumors, the company has a new neglected franchise to reveal at E3. The company has been surrounded by controversies in the past few months. Apparently, it’s structuring projects to focus in what brings revenue.
