Although under-screen cameras are already a reality, there aren’t many brands exploring this technology. Perhaps, not all are convinced enough to switch the benefits and qualities of a punch-hole camera for a new emerging tech with shortcomings. Anyway, if most of the brands tend to opt for convenience, there will always be one exploring the unusual. ZTE has been one of the brands making the most significant efforts to make this technology viable. We already saw two generations of the brand’s under-screen camera tech, and now, the brand is preparing for a new iteration with the Nubia Z50 Ultra.
Forget notches, dynamic islands, or the punch-hole. ZTE will still be focusing on the under-screen camera. Today, the ZTE Nubia Z50 Ultra has emerged in a leaked photo that shows its full-screen design in all its glory. It has a rather flat, almost boxy device. The quality of the image is not the best, but we can already spot the flat display of the phone, and notice that there is no visible punch-hole for the selfie camera. Again, we have a quite thick design that creates a boxy effect. It reminds me of the old Nokia Lumia phones, but we have the classic red power button to remind me that this is a Nubia phone.
Gizchina News of the week
Nubia Z50 Ultra will bring the latest in-display camera advancements
The Nubia Z50 Ultra will likely pack the latest generation of BOE’s under-display camera tech. So it probably will get the same quality seen within the Red Magic 8 Pro. Regular visible cameras still offer better quality, especially for video recording and night shots. However, it’s good to see that this tech keeps evolving. We are pretty sure that the next level for selfie cameras is to go under the display. However, most of the brands are doing their work under wraps. Samsung is known for working in such tech for years, but so far, it has not delivered it with the Galaxy S series. Maybe, in a few years. For now, lovers of new technologies will be served with the ZTE and Nubia phones.
As per the leaks, the Nubia Z50 Ultra will make its debut in March. The phone will bring the SD8 Gen 2, a 5,000 mAh battery with fast charging, and a periscope camera. The device will join the existing Z50.
