Since breaking free from Huawei, Honor has launched a couple of great smartphones based on entry-level, midrange and flagships. The growth of the Chinese brand’s flagship smartphones cannot go unnoticed since the company is used to making excellent phones. Honor launched the Honor Magic 5 Pro on the 27th of February 2023 and this phone ticks all the checkboxes when it comes to defining a true flagship phone.
A true flagship phone is defined by its specifications, design, build quality, software, price and other extra features. All smartphones come with these features as well, but some phones go extreme than others. And that is what makes them flagship.
At the flagship level, all manufacturers try to battle their ways to the very top with some great spec sheets, design, features and price tag. However, most of them drop a point or two in their flagship devices. So far, Honor’s new flagship is the only flagship that does not seem to drop a lot of points this year.
Display of the Honor Magic 5 Pro
The Honor Magic 5 Pro has one of the biggest displays on the smartphone market. It features an AMOLED display of 6.81-inch. With a peak brightness of 1800 nits, it also comes with one of the brightest displays on a smartphone. The 120Hz display also covers about 91% of the phone’s body. The 1312 x 2848 pixels resolution is a bit lower than the 1440 x 3088 pixels on the Galaxy S23 Ultra, but it still stands up against a lot of other flagship phones. Unlike the previous edition, the Magic 5 Pro does not have its display too curved nor too flat. With a display of this nature, whether you are a fan of flat display or curved display, you will have very little to complain about.
Design of the Honor Magic 5 Pro
One of the main highlights of the Honor Magic 5 Pro has to do with its unique and clean design. It has both front and back glass with aluminum frame sandwiched between them. The camera module has a circular design with the triple cameras arranged to look like a triangular shape. The camera module is also covered with a beautiful glass with sharp curves on the edges.
Turning to the front of the phone, you will be greeted by the large 6.81″ OLED LTPO display. Honor calls the display a floating display due to the gentle curves on all the four sides of the display. This design makes the screen looks like it is really floating on the frame of the phone. The Honor Magic 5 Pro is the kind of device that is really going to catch the eye of many people when holding it in your palm. If you are a fan of unique looking phones, you may have to check it out.
