After a long period of rumors, and leaks, followed by official teasers, Vivo is finally here with the release of the Vivo V27 series. As expected, the new contenders of this successful lineup are here to conquer the market with excellent cameras, capable specifications, and stunning designs. The lineup consists of the Vivo V27, Vivo V27 Pro, and the V27e. The latter is a mid-range offering that drinks the formula, the vanilla is the world’s first Dimensity 7200 phone, while the Vivo V27 Pro sits at the top of the lineup with a great camera setup. Let’s see what these new devices have in tow without further ado.
Vivo V27 key specifications and features
As usual, the Vivo V27 series will continue the long legacy of the V-series that brings Style and great camera capabilities for an affordable price. In this regard, the Vivo V27 will not disappoint. The phone brings a gorgeous design with Vivo’s Fluorite AG Glass that delivers a color-changing effect.
Although it is a vanilla phone, it also brings Super Night Video mode and Hybrid Image Stabilization that consists of a typical OIS + EIS. The new Vivo V27 is the first smartphone with the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 CPU. That’s MediaTek’s latest chipset for the mid-range 5G market and it brings the 4nm process to a new level of affordability!
The new Vivo V27 packs come in options with 8 GB / 12 GB of RAM with 256 GB of Internal Storage. These are impressive numbers for a mid-range, and you can even expand that amount with the Extended RAM feature present within the Android 13-based FuntouchOS 13 build.
Superb camera setup
One of the Vivo’s V27 major highlights is the camera setup. The phone packs the Aura Light Portrait system. It is led by a Sony IMX766V sensor with OIS. The 50 MP Main camera is joined by an 8 MP super-wide angle camera, and a 2 MP Super Macro shooter. For selfies and video calls, the Vivo V27 is one of the best devices in the market with a 50 MP HD camera that also brings Auto-Focus. Among the features in this camera setup, we have Real-Time Extreme Night Vision and Super Night mode for videos and images.
Moving around to the front, the phone has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 2,400 x 1,080 pixels of resolution, 120 Hz Refresh Rate, HDR 10+ support, and an SGS Eye Care feature. The panel is curved and brings a top-center punch-hole for the powerful selfie shooter.
In terms of connectivity, the Vivo V27 packs Dual 5G mode, Dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, and a USB Type-C port. The phone draws its power from a 4,600 mAh battery with 66W FlashCharge.
Gizchina News of the week
The phone comes in Magic Blue, Emerald Green, Noble Black, and Flowing Gold color options. It has 164.1 x 74.8 x 7.36 mm and weighs just 182 grams. The weight and thickness are impressive when we consider the specifications.
Vivo V27 Pro – the mid-range king on a premium package
The Vivo V27 Pro is the king of the lineup with premium specifications inside of a “mid-range-priced” smartphone. The Vivo V27 Pro looks very similar to its vanilla brother, and in fact, it’s very similar. The phone has extra performance thanks to the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 CPU.
Under the hood, the phone brings this flagship-like CPU in variants with 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256GB of Internal Storage. Obviously, the Extended RAM feature is here providing an extra 8 GB of virtual RAM. The phone also runs Funtouch OS 13 with Android 13.
Aura Light Camera setup with Hybrid OIS + Color-Changing Design!
The camera setup is similar to the vanilla with the 50 MP Sony IM766V camera leading the way. It also has an OIS camera with Hybrid (OIS+EIS) technology. There is also an 8 MP ultrawide shooter, and a 2 MP super macro camera. Selfie lovers will get the same powerful 50 MP HD Selfie shooter with Auto-Focus.
The phone also brings an AMOLED screen with a 6.78-inch Diagonal, Full HD+ resolution, and up to 120 Hz refresh rate. The display is also curved with the same top-center punch-hole for the selfie camera.
The Vivo V27 Pro brings the same connectivity options as the vanilla. It boasts the same 4,600 mAh battery with 66W FlashCharge.
The phone has different color options with the Magic Blue and Noble Black variants. As you may expect, the Magic Blue option is the one with the Fluorite AG Glass color-changing design. When exposed to the light, you’ll notice a color-changing effect.
Vanilla or Pro?
What makes the Pro stand in comparison to the vanilla? The CPU will deliver more performance, but a little less efficiency due to its 5nm process. However, if you want to play more demanding games, the Dimensity 8200 will offer more power. Also, the color-changing design is something unique to the Pro. However, depending on the market, you probably won’t have much choice.
