Earlier today, Vivo presented the Vivo V27 series with the glorious Vivo V27 and Vivo V27 Pro. These devices are pretty similar in specs, features, and design. The biggest difference is the Chipset and the availability. The Vivo V27 is the one going global and carries the Dimensity 7200. It’s the world’s first smartphone with MediaTek’s first 4nm chip for mid-range devices. The Vivo V27 Pro, on the other hand, is exclusive to India and carries the Dimensity 8200. There is a third model in the lineup, one that did not get the same spotlight, but it will certainly be the gateway of the series for some customers – the Vivo V27e.
Vivo V27e specifications
The Vivo V27 is the gateway in the lineup for some users. The phone brings only 4G connectivity, as it is clearly targeting markets where 5G isn’t a thing. That said, the Vivo V27e packs the MediaTek Helio G99 SoC, as expected. This is the latest chipset in the Helio G-series and fortunately brings significant upgrades. In terms of performance, it will still be similar to the older Helio G95 or G96. However, it’s more efficient since it drops the old 12nm manufacturing for the more efficient 6nm standard. The phone is paired with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Internal Storage. The phone runs Android 13-based FuntouchOS 13. Therefore, you can enable the virtual RAM feature for an extra 8 GB of RAM.
Gizchina News of the week
In terms of optics, the Vivo V27e is modest on the auxiliary cameras. However, we have a pretty good 64 MP shooter leading the way. The better part is that it brings OIS. It’s not easy, perhaps impossible, to find mid-range 4G phones with OIS. So that is one of the main benefits of this device. There is also a 2 MP bokeh camera and a 2 MP macro shooter. For selfies and video calls, the device packs a 32 MP snapper with fixed focus.
The phone’s design is pretty similar to the overall Vivo V27 series design language. We have the same design at the back and the same center punch-hole display. The big difference is that the Vivo V27e packs a flat panel. Anyway, this is still an AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The device has a 6.62-inch diagonal. The design is clearly one of the priorities and the device has just 7.7mm of thickness without the camera cutout.
The Vivo V27e draws its power from the same 4,600 mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging.
Pricing and Availability
The Vivo V27e sells in Glory Black and Lavender Purple color options. Right now, the Vivo V27e is available in Malaysia. There is no word on extended availability for other markets. The phone sells for about $289, but that is subject to change depending on the market’s conditions.
