Back in September last year, Apple officially released the iPhone 14 series. This series has four models which include the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. At the launch, the series has five colour options which include Black, Blue, Purple, Starlight, and Red. However, in an attempt to attract more buyers, Apple is now adding a new colour option.
In order to expand the series’ colour choices this spring, the company today revealed the release of a new yellow colour scheme for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. Pre-orders for the new yellow iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus will start on March 10 (this Friday). However, they will go on sale on March 14. (Tuesday). Regarding the new yellow colour option, Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing had this to say
“People love iPhone and rely on it to get things done every day. Now, the new yellow iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are the icings on the cake for this lineup. Lightweight design, pro-grade camera and video features, groundbreaking security features and new features in iOS 16 make iPhone 14 the best choice for iPhone in the market for every type of customer.”
There are presently six beautiful colour options available for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.
Analysts predict a drop in iPhone 14 series sales
In a recent study, TrendForce predicts that shipments of Apple’s iPhone 14 series would drop to 78.1 million devices in 2022. Foxconn has reportedly been the Pro series’ sole assembler for a long time, according to TrendForce. Apple initially intended to find other companies to enter the ranks of production and assembly. However, due to risk management, it made little progress. The report asserts that Luxshare Precision is now slated to become a part of the iPhone 15 Pro Max manufacturing supply chain as a result of the epidemic’s effects on Foxconn’s utilization rate.

Currently, iPhone manufacturing is still in China, whereas the Vietnamese plant focuses primarily on Apple accessories. Vietnam is not currently home to any iPhone production. According to the report, Vietnam companies are also planning to begin production in the middle of 2023. This will be in addition to the current Indian production capacity, which will double this year. The share of Apple’s output in India and Vietnam will increase to 30–35% of the overall production capacity over the following few years.
According to TrendForce, Apple’s iPhone sales will drop to 47 million devices in the first quarter of 2023. Comparing this to the same time last year, there has been a 22% drop.
How good is the A16 Bionic chip?
There have been reports that point out a few mistakes made during the A16 Bionic SoC’s development. Because of the mistakes, Apple had to equip the iPhone 14 Pro versions with a CPU that performed worse. This suggests that there is an issue with the chip staff at Apple. The A16 Bionic processor is used in the Pro models. It could have done better even though it is currently one of the most potent chipsets in a mobile phone.
