Huawei is set to release two new smartwatches: the Watch 4 and the Watch 4 Pro. The WiFi Alliance recently confirmed the smartwatches, publishing certificates for the latest devices with model numbers ARC-AL00, MDS-Al10, and MDS-AL00.
The certification authority revealed that ARC-AL00 is associated with the Huawei Watch 4. In contrast, the other two models are related to the Huawei Watch 4 Pro. “Arch” and “Medusa” are the codenames for the standard and pro variants, respectively.
Huawei Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro are unreleased devices; this certification is the first indication that they will be available soon. According to the certificate, the smartwatches will run the HarmonyOS operating system, hopefully, HarmonyOS 3. However, no other specifications or design information is available.
Gizchina News of the week
The Huawei Watch 4 series comes out two years after the Huawei Watch 3 series. The Huawei Watch 3 series was the first wearable with HarmonyOS 2 and built-in LTE. The Watch 4 could debut alongside the Huawei P60 series later this month; however, Huawei has yet to announce official details about the lineup.
Leaks show that the Watch 4 series will probably have satellite communication. It will let you send and receive SMS messages even without a cellular network. With this brand-new feature, Huawei could be the first smartwatch in the world to have satellite SMS. The frame of the smartwatch is likely to be made of high-quality zirconium, but it might cost more than a regular watch.
Huawei could also improve LTE technology for local calls and change its appearance. Rest assured that we’ll inform you when this upcoming smartwatch gets its official name.
