We have to agree that there is something odd in Black Shark’s situation. Well, we are already in March, and there is still no sign of a new Black Shark smartphone series. In the past year, the company always started March with new gaming flagships ready for launch. Right now, we have just some rumors and still no sign of a release date. In fact, some rumors point to multiple issues going on at the company’s HQ. Xiaomi’s gaming phone arm is having tough times with employees and is also having issues producing products. Despite this, it seems that the Xiaomi Black Shark 6 series will be released, but there is no forecast for that release. Despite this, someone managed to put the Black Shark 6 for sale in China. Maybe an angry employee?
Apparently, someone has put a Black Shark 6 for sale in China. It was spotted in a second-hand Chinese marketplace – Youxianyu. Obviously, it’s hard to say if the final smartphone will look like this, or whether this is just a prototype. We believe that this is a prototype, but it could be really close to the final product. Something that is not close to the final product is the price tag. It’s set for sale at CNY 3,900 ($560). That obviously is far below the launch price of a Black Shark 6 or a Shark 6 Pro.

Black Shark 6 – design and key specs
The alleged Black Shark 6 smartphone will introduce a new camera island design. Moreover, it seems to come with a new leather finish for the back. It would bring some fresh air to the design language of the Shark 5 series. However, again, there is no guarantee that all these changes are present in the final product. As per the listing, this variant has 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of Internal Storage. One curious fact is that it lists the phone with an old 64 MP Sony IMX686 camera. We know that photography is not the point of these phones. However, it’s disappointing to see the use of such an old camera sensor on a device that will not be cheap. Hopefully, this is just exclusive to this prototype. The listing also confirms 120W fast charging, which is in line with what Xiaomi offers to its most advanced devices.
So far, the rumors have been pointing to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU and a 5,000 mAh battery. The display is not visible in the leak, but we expect it to be an AMOLED panel and bring a high refresh rate, with 144Hz or even 165Hz. Right now, we will need to wait for more details.
Xiaomi recently launched the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro across global markets. Now, the rumors are around the new POCO F5 flagship and the new Black Shark 6 series of smartphones. We are curious to see which smartphones will be launched first.
