While the teaser, which came with a leaked picture of the box, gave us a hint at what to expect, we did want to learn more.

Live Images of Huawei FreeBuds 5 Leaked
So, the leaked pictures of the FreeBuds 5 confirms that Huawei has stuck with a semi-in ear and semi-on ear design. Don’t know what the design really stands for? Well, according to the images, the earpiece of the earbuds will sit inside the ear. On the other hand, a droplet base will provide grip support from the outside.
Gizchina News of the week
From what the tipster says, the Huawei FreeBuds 5 will sit very securely inside the ears despite the odd design. And most importantly, you will not need to worry about facing any comfort issues. Nonetheless, the leaked pictures also reveal the charging case of the buds. Again, it does not stick with a standard earbuds case design.
Instead, the FreeBuds 5 case has more of an ellipse shape. Getting back to the comfort level, the buds weigh 5.5 grams, while the charging box weighs 44.4 grams. In comparison, the FreeBuds 4 was 4.1 grams, indicating that the next-gen buds will have more robust tech inside. The same thing goes for the charging case.
Furthermore, the tipster confirmed that the Huawei FreeBuds 5 will support LDAC sound codec. The Weibo user even stated that the buds will feature an adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). Here, the ANC part is interesting as we don’t see the tech in semi-in or semi-on ear designs. So, Huawei might have indeed made a breakthrough.
