Leaked Renders Showcase Huge External Display of Galaxy Z Flip 5

Dual Cover Display Galaxy Z Flip 5

Since its release, users’ main complaint regarding the Galaxy Z Flip devices is the external display. And ever since 2020, Samsung has made very little progress in this regard. That has eventually made competitors pull ahead. Take the Oppo Find N2 Flip, for example. However, it seems like things are about to change for the lineup with the Galaxy Z Flip 5.

Yes, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 has already made improvements in terms of the external display. But even though it came with a 1.9-inch external display, Motorola Razr (2022), with a 2.7-inch, was leading the race. And according to what rumors say, Motorola is going to up things by a notch with the Razr 2023. So, Samsung will really be in a tough spot if it does not work on its Galaxy Z Flip 5.

Double External Displays on Galaxy Z Flip 5?

Well, it seems like Samsung will not sit back and do nothing about Motorola pulling way ahead in the competition. How so? A reliable tipster, IceUniverse, tweeted that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will have an external display larger than the 3.3-inch screen found on Oppo’s first clamshell device.

In addition to that, we just had a render leak revolving around the Galaxy Z Flip 5. The images from the tipster SuperRoader show that there will be two external displays on the device. That is, the phone will have a small display next to the dual cameras and one large 3.4-inch camera that will cover the rest of the real estate of the front.

The renders also show that the small external screen of the Z Flip 5 will show limited information. That includes the time, AR emojis, and battery life percentage. On the other hand, the larger display would be for notifications, widgets, and quick settings. It can also act as a viewfinder. However, we would definitely love to see the external screen run some apps. Otherwise, it will not really be that useful.
