OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G specs revealed! Worth your hype?

OnePlus

With OnePlus confirming that there won’t be new OnePlus 11 series phones coming out, the focus now is on the Nord series. That comes right after the launch of the OnePlus Ace 2V in China. The original Ace 2 is known elsewhere as OnePlus 11R. As per the rumors, the 2V is not getting a OnePlus 11 series makeover. Instead, the phone will come as the long-awaited Oneplus Nord 3. The king of OnePlus mid-range phones is set to launch soon, and the rumors suggest it won’t be alone. We are also expecting the OnePlus Nord CE 3 to tag along, and the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G. Today, the Lite variant has been spotted at the IMDA certification.

The tipster Mukul Sharma spotted the phone’s arrival at IMDA certification. He also revealed that the non-Lite variant has passed by BIS. Those are two important regulators that gave the green light for a phone to land in India. We are not exactly surprised to see the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite in India. However, the certification is a good indicator of the device’s imminent launch. Some rumors were suggesting the new OnePlus Nord phones to launch only in June/July. But we believe that they will come sooner.

OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite specifications

The OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite passed by IMDA with model number CPH2465. The tipster suggests that the phone will launch on April 4, which is just two weeks from now. The handset will pack a 6.7-inch LCD screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, there is not much upgrade in performance. It will pack the old Snapdragon 695 5G chipset. It will come with up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of Storage. There is no word whether it will also bring a micro SD card slot for further memory expansion.

Gizchina News of the week

The OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite will run OxygenOS 13 straight out of the box. The device will pack a large 5,000 mAh battery with 67W fast-charging support. In terms of optics, there is a 108 MP main camera and two 2 MP decorative shooters for macro and depth sensing. There is a 16 MP shooter for selfies and video calls.

As we can see the Lite is a budget smartphone, and its appeal will probably stand in the price. The device will be accompanied by a higher variant with better specifications, and of course, a higher price. Thanks to the leaks we also know what to expect from it.

The alleged specs of the “non-Lite”

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G passed BIS certification with model number CPH2467. Thanks to the leaks, we know some of its specifications. It’s better than the Lite offering things like an AMOLED display and a Snapdragon 700 series chipset. Some rumors suggest that the phone will launch only in July, close to the OnePlus Nord 3. We can’t confirm this, but it’s rather strange to see OnePlus splitting the launches across different months. Anyway, let’s see what this device has in tow.

OnePlus Nord CE 3

As per the rumors, the OnePlus Nord CE 3 will bring a 6.72-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 782G with up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Internal Storage. OnePlus will pair it with a triple-camera setup led by a 50 MP IMX 890 shooter. There will also be an 8 MP ultrawide shooter and a 2 MP macro sensor. We believe that this phone does not bring OIS, something that should be exclusive to the regular OnePlus Nord 3. The phone will bring the usual 16 MP selfie shooter.

The OnePlus Nord CE 3 will also bring an in-display fingerprint scanner. There is a 5,000 mAh battery keeping lights with faster 80W charging. The phone will also run Android 13 and we are curious to see how many updates the Nord series is getting now that OnePlus promises four years of support for some of its devices.

The OnePlus Nord 3 will be a rebadged OnePlus Ace 2V with the Dimensity 9000.
