You might not have heard much about Amazfit. But the brand has been in the market for six or seven years. And over time, it has built a lineup of affordable fitness wearables and great smartwatches. Now, it is aiming to take on the flagship offerings of the market by releasing the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra.
As the name suggests, the T-Rex Ultra is Amazfit’s most ambitious effort yet in the smartwatch category. It comes with top-notch build quality and brings a lot of amazing features to the table. But is it really worth the price? To judge that, you need to have an in-depth look at the smartwatch.
A Closer Look at the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra
The Amazfit T-Rex Ultra comes with a 1.39-inch AMOLED display that can go up to 1000 nits in terms of brightness. With that peak brightness level, you will be able to read what’s on the screen in any given environment. Amazfit kept toughness in consideration while designing the watch.
That’s why it has opted for high-grade steel for the overall build. Even though Amazfit did not disclose anything more about the build, it states that the T-Rex Ultra has passed military-grade tests. This indicates that the watch is capable of handling the most extreme temperatures and heavy abuse.
The T-Rex Ultra even has unique hardware that keeps the debris and sediments away from the inside. So, no matter where you end up taking the watch, you will not need to worry about it getting damaged or frying itself up.
On that note, Amazfit states that the T-Rex Ultra has EN13319 & ISO6245 certifications. These two make the watch capable of withstanding water depths of up to 30 meters while freediving and resisting water pressures that are equivalent to up to 100 meters.
Ultra Smart Features
If you are someone that likes to hike, you will be happy to know that the T-Rex Ultra comes with dual-band GPS. That enables the watch to accurately offer trail tracking. It even has support for offline mapping. So you can easily navigate through unknown territories with limited or no network coverage.

You also have the usual sports and activities features that are available on other smartwatches. For example, there are running, jogging, and walking exercise modes. And the great part is that the T-Rex Ultra can auto-detect 25 different exercises, making tracking your workout easier.
The Amazfit T-Rex Ultra also has health monitoring features like stress, sleep, and heart rate tracking. It will not even disappoint you in terms of battery life. The watch comes with a beefy battery that can provide up to 20 days of run time with a single full charge.
But if you do not want to give up GPS tracking for battery life, you can get over three days of use with the Endurance GPS mode. Also, the T-Rex Ultra has the ability to offer you different types of info about your environment. For example, it can show air pressure, water temperature, and altitude.
It can even connect to your Bluetooth headphones for music playback. That means you might not even feel the need to bring your phone to the gym if you don’t want to. The Bluetooth connectivity feature even allows the T-Rex Ultra to broadcast your activity data to external devices.
Of course, the T-Rex Ultra wouldn’t be much of a smartwatch without having any customization features. There are more than 120 watch faces available from Amazfit.
Overall, the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra, coming at $400, is a great smartwatch for extreme individuals. And it seems Amazfit is on a roll with its smartwatches. Just recently, it debuted the GTR Mini, an affordable smartwatch that’s definitely worthy of your attention.
