Back in February, Realme introduced the Realme GT Neo5 with 240W fast charging and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The smartphone stole the headlines thanks to these two appealing specifications. A few weeks after its announcement in China, Realme took it to MWC 2023 to launch it as Realme GT3. Now, the brand prepares to launch one more variant of the smartphone in China. It will be dubbed Realme GT Neo5 SE. The smartphone will be a more cost-effective variant, but that will introduce the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 to the market. Today, the brand confirmed that Realme fans can expect the phone to land on April 3.
Realme will launch the Realme GT Neo5 SE at 2 PM in China. Thanks to a set of leaks, we already know some of the key specs coming with this smartphone. Interestingly, Realme confirmed that the SE variant will bring the triple-camera setup. However, it will miss the iconic RGB LED rectangle found within the regular model.
Realme GT Neo5 SE details emerge
The company also teased the Realme GT Neo5 SE with a thickness of 8.95. It will also weigh 193.1 grams which is about 6g lighter than the regular smartphone. Last but not least, the brand has confirmed the smartphone comes with the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC. Old leaks have been pointing the smartphone with an underclocked Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. However, now we know, that it’s the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 which shares some similarities with the newer model.
Gizchina News of the week
The Realme GT Neo5 SE boasts the model number RMX3700. The smartphone has passed through AnTuTu with 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 1 TB of UFS 3.1 storage, and Android 13. Obviously, this should be the higher version of the smartphone. We also expect simpler variants with less RAM and Storage. According to the leaked benchmark run, the smartphone will also be equipped with a 120 Hz refresh rate screen. Although the display size has not been confirmed, we expect it to flaunt the same display size as the Realme GT Neo5. The regular smartphone has a 6.74-inch display with a 2,772 x 1,240 resolution and a higher 144 Hz refresh rate.
According to the leaks, the Realme GT Neo5 SE will pack a 50-Megapixel camera, 8-Megapixel ultrawide, and 2-Megapixel macro sensor. The phone may bring a 5,000 mAh battery with “just” 80W charging. In terms of software, we expect it to run Android 13-based Realme UI 4.0 straight out of the box. Considering that the GT Neo5 became Realme GT3, we assume that the SE model could be rebadged as Realme GT Neo5 to launch in the international markets. Of course, this is just speculation on my part.
We expect Realme to disclose more details about the smartphone in the next few weeks.
