Amazon will be shutting down DPReview, which you may know as the go-to place for comprehensive and reliable camera reviews. The decision to shut down the best camera review website came as a part of 18000 job cuts. Amazon made an announcement regarding that in January.
As the announcement from the DPReview site says, the team will no longer publish reviews and other content after April 10th. After that, Amazon will lock the site, and there will be no more new content. In other words, the website that has built its reputation since 1998 will be dead after April 10th, 2023.
DPReview Will Truly be Missed
There’s a lot to talk about the DPReview website and its team. Before 2007, DPReview was an independent website that was founded in England. And after being sold, Amazon relocated the team to Seattle in 2010, where the members worked close to the headquarters of Amazon.

On that note, the team behind DPReview is not just some average reviewers. Instead, they have extensive knowledge and do heavily-focused testing to offer camera enthusiasts what they want to know before buying a new camera. Some of the reviews were even too extensive, which hints at how in-depth the team goes to check out a new camera.
In addition to that, the DPReview team did not even care about the brand that the products were from. Even the budget-friendly models got the same treatment as the high-end cameras. In simpler words, the website has an extensive catalog of trustworthy camera reviews and specs that many count on.
The website drew a lot of attention for the consistency and dedication DPReview maintained throughout the time. That’s why it has managed to retain a large and highly dedicated community. However, after April 10th, 2023, both the website and the dedicated YouTube channel will be a part of history.
