ASUS ROG Phone 7 series to launch on April 13

ASUS ROG Phone 7

We’re reaching the final week of March, and April is set to come with more novelties for the smartphone segment. We already know that OnePlus is gearing up to launch new devices in April, now ASUS has confirmed that its ROG Phone 7 series will arrive on April 13. ASUS is set to unveil its next round of gaming smartphones for the market. These devices will serve as sequels for the ASUS ROG Phone 6, and ROG Phone 6 Pro from July last year. There is also an ASUS ROG Phone 6D, and some evidence suggests we may also see an ASUS ROG Phone 7D at this point.

ASUS ROG Phone 7 series – what do we know about these devices?

ASUS confirmed that the ROG Phone series will launch a bit earlier than usual. The new gaming phones will launch during the company’s next keynote scheduled for April 13. The company brought the news through the official Twitter account for the ROG series. The company’s event will be live-streamed for those who want to experience the latest take on the Republic of Gamers smartphone series. The devices reveal will take place at 8 PM Taipei time, 2 PM Berlin time, and 8 AM New York Time. As per the leaks, ASUS may be planning to launch three smartphones.

Gizchina News of the week

Three distinct versions of the ROG Phone 7 passed the Geekbench benchmark. All three models with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. This is hardly a surprise, after all, gaming smartphones usually bring the latest hardware possible, and even more. As per Geekbench, all three variants have 16 GB of RAM. However, we also expect one more option with 18 GB RAM. Again, gaming smartphones are here to impress us with hardware and numbers. Worth noting, that this supposed ROG Phone 7D means a twist for the series. After all, its predecessor had the Dimensity 9000+. It seems that there is no ROG Phone 7 coming with a MediaTek chipset, at least not in this first batch.

Other alleged specifications

Apart from the Geekbench benchmark, not much is known about these devices. The leaks point to a 6.8-inch AMOLED Full HD+ screen with a 165 Hz refresh rate. Moreover, the smartphones will bring a 6,000 mAh battery with 65W charging. The question is all three phones will have this set of specs? What will make them different from each other? We will need to wait for new leaks that answer these questions. Of course, ASUS will likely start a teaser campaign to build the hype for its ASUS ROG Phone 7 series.

ASUS is also expected to unleash the ZenFone 10 series pretty soon. However, we don’t think this phone will land at the same date as the ROG Phones.
