South Korean manufacturing giant, Samsung, is one of the major players in the foldable mobile phone market. In fact, after the ban on Huawei, Samsung is now the undisputed “king” of the foldable phone market. Recently, Yogesh Brar, a popular tech blogger, said that Samsung will launch a mobile device with a “three – fold” screen this year. If this happens, it will make Samsung the first company to release a three – fold folding mobile phone. Samsung had planned to launch three phones later this year, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5, its new folding series, and the Galaxy S23 FE, a candy bar phone. But according to recent news, the Galaxy S23 FE not launch. The three – fold foldable phone will replace this device.
Samsung Display has already demonstrated an OLED screen with two hinges that can be folded three times at the previous exhibition. It is expected that Samsung Display will launch an improved version of the panel. The company will use it for this upcoming tri-fold device. The device may also be powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Gen2 For Galaxy chip as the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

In other respects, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 may use a new drop-shaped hinge. With this design, it can get a wider folding radius. Compared with the previous generation of folding devices, the screen crease of the new device may be less obvious. In addition, the new phone may also be able to completely fold flat. Of course, we expect this device to support some sort of waterproof, maybe IPX8.
Editor’s comment:
Samsung has been able to achieve the spirit of “dare to be the first” to explore many fields. Fans may just like this brand image of a “technical madman”. Overall, Samsung seems to be living up to its reputation as the “Big Brother of Android.”
