Huawei is Chinese company based in China. However, the company has business partners all over the world making it a global company.
As a business partner to many global companies. Most of these companies take advantage of their relationships with Huawei. They use the company’s logo or brand in promoting some of their products.
In terms of business, this could be good for the partners. But it can also go the long way to affect Huawei. This could affect its reputation through one way or the other.
Huawei Has Asked Partners to Remove Huawei Logo From Their Products
For this reason, Huawei is taking the necessary steps. It wants to make sure all third-party partners will remove the Huawei brand from their products. This includes products such as smartphones, cars and other electronic products.
This action seems to be a necessary action for Huawei. Since it will save the company from false publicity. It will also avoid misuse of the Huawei brand.
Huawei made this announcement after the 2022 annual results. Founder and chairman Ren Zhengfei signed this. He then urged all Huawei officials to abide by the new announcement. He also asked other departments to move in the same direction.
Ren said the word Huawei or HUAWEI cannot be used publicly by any vehicle or design. After the announcement, Huawei’s partner, AITO did exactly that. It removed all Huawei logo and any other references that are related to Huawei for car promotions.
That was not all, the marketing team of AITO are no more allowed to use the name of Huawei before their car names. Meanwhile, Huawei’s rotating chairman Xu Zhijun has also added his voice. He said, Some individuals, companies, and partners are abusing the Huawei brand. Huawei will take appropriate actions against them. Huawei Will Still Market Products of It’s Partners
Some phone makers have the rights to use Huawei’s designs. These phone makers will also not be exempted. They may still have the right to use Huawei designs. But not the right to use the name “Huawei” in any of their sales and promotional slogans.
Huawei Smart selection is an important part of the company’s all-scenario smart life strategy. The Chinese tech company launched it as a smart home Ecosystem.
Huawei does not just give its partners the right to use its designs. It also markets products of its partners. A notable example is the Hi Nova brand. A China Post Communication Equipment brand. They have a phone called Hi Nova 10. This smartphone has all the specs and design of the Huawei Nova 10 Pro.
Huawei markets the Hi Nova phones on its online store VMall. This is because, the phones are licensed. Which allows China Post reserve all the rights of the phone.
Is Huawei Making the Right Decision with Partners?
Definitely Huawei is making the right moves in taking these actions. This will go the long way of improving the safety of the Huawei brand. It will also avoid misuse of the Huawei brand by some individuals.
Personally, I also think it will help protect Huawei’s partners. Looking at the controversies surrounding Huawei. Keeping the partnership away from the public eye will help protect partners.
Huawei has a lot of partners globally. Most of these partners may definitely have some relationships with US manufacturers. The ban on Huawei can also affect some of its partners in future.
Especially companies that use the Huawei logo or brand in their promotional materials. These companies stand at a higher risk of facing similar predicaments as Huawei.
For this reason, removing Huawei logo is a good way for both sides. Protecting the Huawei brand as well as its partners.
