If you love playing video games, then you probably love playing soccer too. As a matter of fact, soccer games are the entry point of many gamers into the gaming industry. In actual fact, football is the most popular sports in the world, and it does not come as much of a surprise that many people love its video game.
The popular video game we have all come to love today goes way back. In actual fact, the first ever soccer video game came into existence in 1978. It was designed for a console called Odyssey and designed by a game designer called John Burgeson.
Quick forward, FIFA and a company called Electronics Arts (EA Sports as known by many) came together in 1993 to introduce their first video game. Initially, the game was called FIFA International Soccer which eventually changed to just EA Sports FIFA and the release year. Due to the FIFA name attached to the video game, it gained instant popularity, and it has truly lived up to its name till today.
EA Sports and FIFA No More Partners on FIFA Soccer Game 
Today, we have EA Sports FIFA23 as the latest soccer game between FIFA and EA. Sadly, that will be the last of its kind and we all have to say goodbye to the FIFA-EA collaboration. The two parties were supposed to agree on a new deal in order to continue their partnership. However, a deal could not come to fruition, leading to the sad breakup.
With the partnership now broken, FIFA will have to look for a new partner. Sources claim that the world football governing body is working on its own in-house soccer video game. EA on the other hand does not have much of a problem since it is the rightful owner of the game. All it had to do was to ditch the FIFA name and look for a new name.
EA Sports Introduces New Name for the FIFA Soccer Game 
EA Sports has finally come out with a new name for the soccer video game. The world’s most popular soccer video game will now bear the name EA Sports FC. EA made the official announcement on its website and stated that more information will be coming in July.

In a press release, Nick Wlodyka, SVP & GM of EA Sports FC said: This is where the story of EA Sports FC begins. We are building on 30 years of leadership and history creating experiences that bring the global football community together. And continuing to take it into a fan-first futureā. āEA SPORTS FC will be a symbol for the sport, a symbol of innovation and change, and weāre energized to show our fans more about the future in July,ā he added. 
In case your worry is about the change of team and player names due to licensing issues, then worry less. This is because EA has partnered with over 700 teams, more than 19,000 players and 30 leagues. These are all fully lincenced. EA Sports FC will feature leagues such as Premier League, Germany Bundesliga, MLS, NWSL, EUFA Men’s and Women’s Champions League, etc.
EA Sports FC May Lack Certain Game Modes
Nevertheless, the lack of partnership with FIFA will definitely mean that some FIFA events will be lost. For example, you can no longer play FIFA World Cup Games, FIFA Women’s World Cup and other events licensed by FIFA.
The official launch is set for July this year. As a whole new experience, there will be more details to uncover even before the launch.
