How durable is Ulefone’s Power Armor 19T ? The test results are in

Durability is one of the most important things we consider when buying a smartphone, especially for mobile workers in the construction and retail industries, and adventurers who love camping out and climbing mountains. When we invest in a truly rugged mobile device like Ulefone Power Armor 19T, we can be confident that it’s durable enough to survive any challenging environment, and we won’t have to replace broken phones and experience costly downtime.

Last month, Ulefone introduced the Power Armor 19T, an ultra-rugged, Helio G99-powered Android smartphone, that combines a thermal imaging camera, extra-long battery life and a rich feature set. The 19T has a scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass display and an extremely rugged body, and most importantly, it meets high IP68 and IP69K ratings and even the 810H U.S. military standard.

But how durable is the Power Armor 19T in reality? Ulefone have conducted a test in the lab to show us, that their latest thermal imaging smartphone is built to last. To fully prove the build quality of the phone, Ulefone uses various methods of testing. Test results are now available. You can check out the details below.

USB PLUG-IN STRESS TEST   2,000 TIMES

USB ports can be easily damaged if inserted with too much force. In the first test, the USB-C port on the Power Armor 19T was inserted and subjected to force from all four sides. And they tested it with a minimum 2,000 times of minor impacts. Very solid.

BUTTONS TEST   100,000 TIMES

Next up, all the buttons (Power/Volume/Programmable) on the Power Armor 19T were tested with a lifespan of 100,000 presses.

USB PLUG-IN/OUT TEST   5,000 TIMES

Plugging USB cables in and out frequently can also damage the port in the long run. Don’t worry about the 19T, the USB-C charging has a minimum lifespan of 5,000 cycles of insertion and removal.

TOUCH SCREEN TEST   100,000 TIMES

In this test, the phone was given a test on the touchscreen for responsiveness and smoothness of the touch. As well as durability under specific touch pressure.

MINI DROP TEST   5,000 TIMES

Even after a total of 5,000 drops from a height of about 10 cm, this phone remained intact.

MULTI-ANGLE DROP TEST   200 TIMES/1.5 METERS

Drops can be deadly for mobile devices. In this test, they dropped 19T 200 times from a specified height of 1.5 meters onto a hard surface. There was no damage to any side or corner of the phone.

EXTREME TEMPERATURE TEST   -20 °C/55 °C

Rugged phone users are always working and playing in extreme environments. And it would be frustrating if the phone turns into a brick at this point. So the Power Armor 19T can operate reliably in an extremely cold environment of -20 °C, or an extremely hot environment of 55 °C.

TUMBLE TEST   300 TIMES

This time, the 19T was placed in a machine similar to a tumble dryer. And it held up for around 300 tumbles in succession without any scuffing and wear.

STEEL BALL TEST   30G/60G/90G/130G

The screen of any type of smartphone is always a weak point. They tested LCD glass with dropping steel balls of 30g, 60g, 90g, and 130g. And the phone’s screen remained undamaged in this test.

WATERPROOF TEST   1.5 METERS/30 MINUTES

The 19T withstood complete submersion to a depth of 1.5 meters underwater for 30 minutes. It’s solid as a rock, and users can rely on the superb durability when doing heavy duty work and outdoor sports.

BEND TEST   2,000 TIMES

Bend tests show how reliable and sturdy a smartphone is. The Power Armor 19T was able to take 2,000 gentle bend tests without cracks.

AGING TEST   96 HOURS

Lastly, the lithium battery aging test. Aging generally refers to the placement of the battery after the first charge after the liquid injection has been completed. This is an important factor influencing the performance of the battery. The Power Armor 19T’s battery got tested for a 96-hour aging time.
