Xiaomi Pad 6

After a long waiting, it seems that the Xiaomi Pad 6 series is finally ready to see the light of day! Xiaomi is gearing up to introduce the Xiaomi Pad 6 and 6 Pro on April 18. The two new slates will share the stage with the camera’s behemoth Xiaomi 13 Ultra. As the launch date draws near, more details about these devices are popping out. Today, the battery and charging specifications have been revealed.

Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro battery details

According to new info from Weibo, the Xiaomi Pad 6 is coming with an 8.840 mAh battery. The Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro, on the other hand, will have a smaller 8,600 mAh battery. The vanilla will charge with slower 33W charging, while the Pro will bring speedy 67W charging. Considering the size of the battery, the 67W charging is more than welcome. The vanilla will probably need a few hours to completely charge its huge battery.

The company previously teased the Pro’s 45-day standby time. Now we know the exact capacity coming with the Pro and the vanilla.

Besides the leaked info, Xiaomi also keeps doing rounds to tease these slates. It’s natural to see the brand moving to keep the hype alive. In the most recent teaser, the company confirmed the Xiaomi Pad 6 will bring the old Snapdragon 870. Yes, Xiaomi will stick with its favorite chipset for tablets. That’s the same silicon inside of the Xiaomi Pad 5 series, so there won’t be much improvement in performance. The story is different for the Pad 6 Pro. The fancier of the duo will stick with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. That’s way more powerful and efficient than the Snapdragon 870 SoC from 2021.

It’s intriguing to see Xiaomi sticking with the Snapdragon 870. After all, other brands decided to ditch this chipset for the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+. We assume that the company prefers to go the safe route with a chipset that already works pretty well with its tablet. Anyway, if you want more performance, the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro is the best bet.

The vanilla will come with an 11-inch 120 Hz LCD screen. The Pro, on the other hand, might come with an AMOLED screen which will certainly make it stand against the competition. Further, the Pro variant will bring a powerful 50 MP camera on the back.

The tablets will come with MIUI for Pad with all the fancy MIUI 14 extras. We expect it to be based on the latest Android 13. Unfortunately, the rumors say that the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro should remain exclusive to the Chinese market. The international waters will see the vanilla variant with its old chipset.
