Apple Music and Spotify, the two most widely used music streaming apps on Android, long support the ability to display lyrics in real time during streaming. However, YouTube Music is missing this essential component. It is only capable of showing static lyrics that you must scroll manually. That’s changing now, though. Google is releasing an update for YouTube Music on Android and iOS that gives the music streaming app real-time lyrics.
With this new update, lyrics are instantly tracked in real time while the songs are played. Any music with lyrics posted to YouTube Music will be able to have their words tracked in real time. Within the Lyrics tab of the app, the lyrics that are now playing will be marked and have larger writing. Google and MusixMatch teamed to develop this function last year. There are rumours that LyricFind is also used to power the live lyrics tracking.
Without an official release date, all we have seen so far are screenshots of the feature on iOS and Android. The feature is reportedly available in the Android app version 5.51.50, according to a few Reddit users.

YouTube app now supports a dedicated podcasts tab for Android phones
The YouTube app for Android now features podcasts, although the YouTube Music app is still awaiting their arrival in the US. A new dedicated podcasts tab has been added to the channel pages of the YouTube app for your Samsung Galaxy or any Android phone. This feature is not only available for Android phones but for web apps as well.
A new ‘Podcasts’ tab has been added to the channel sites, sandwiched between the ‘Live’ and ‘Playlist’ tabs. Google stated that the feature is now available all over. You can view a playlist that has been defined as a playlist by the creator by tapping on the YouTube Podcasts tab.
In addition to enticing YouTube Creators to publish episodes as videos, the new podcasts page on the YouTube Android and web apps will also organise the many already-available podcasts into one tidy tab.
Only content classified as a podcast will show up on YouTube Music. The availability of YouTube Music podcast support appears to be limited and is currently in development. According to reports, the feature went live for some users on Wednesday. The YouTube app’s podcasts area is still largely video-focused right now.
