Apple, as the current market leader, has always been among the top mobile phone brands in terms of shipments over the years. Despite the fact that the company only releases a small number of new models each year, its existing models are highly competitive in the market after price cuts. However, Apple’s older models will not always be available for sale.  After the launch of the iPhone 15 series, some models will find their way out.

After a time of sales for iPhones, Apple will discontinue the production of obsolete models. At this point, users can still buy the phone but it will only be from older users that are upgrading. As the launch of the iPhone 15 series draws closer, there are now forecasts about Apple’s older models. Following the launch of the iPhone 15 series, a couple of iPhones will leave the shelves.

Apple’s current official models on the market are believed to include the iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12, and iPhone SE. According to reports, after the release of the iPhone 15 series, Apple may discontinue the iPhone 12 series. It will replace them with the iPhone 13. In addition, the iPhone 13 mini may be dropped from the product portfolio. The iPhone 12 mini was discontinued two years after its initial release due to weak sales of the mini-series models. The sales of the iPhone 13 mini are also weak, so it should follow the iPhone 12 mini.

iPhone 14 Plus may be on its way out

Finally, the market is bearish about the iPhone 14 Plus, believing that it would be cancelled as well. The debut of the iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro Max this fall may create a clash. Also, if the price of the iPhone 14 Plus falls by $100, it might begin at the same price as the ordinary iPhone 15. Apple may discontinue the iPhone 14 Plus at this point to kill internal competition. However, it is unlikely that Apple will let go of such a new device.
