Motorola seems to be ready to deploy a new foldable in the market. Unlike previous years, the company is already teasing its next foldable at this point of the year. With that in mind, we have strong reasons to believe in a release for the next few weeks. After confirming the phone in a teaser, the company went forward to deploy a short video teaser. It continues the latest teaser and highlights the upgrades coming with the Motorola RAZR 2023 display.
Motorola RAZR 2023 teased with its 144Hz refresh rate
The latest teaser highlights the phone’s higher refresh rate. Having that in mind, we can assume that the phone has a 144Hz refresh rate. Right now, all foldable phones have up to 120Hz refresh rate. In fact, 144Hz is not usual for regular flagships. Motorola is one of the few brands that push that forward on regular flagships, now it is bringing this smooth rate to foldable phones. The latest video teaser also confirms a larger external display for the Motorola RAZR 2023.
Gizchina News of the week
The teaser also gives us a glimpse of the phone. To be honest, it looks exactly like the current Moto RAZR. There are two camera lenses with an LED flash on the side. As per the rumors, the device will bring a downgraded battery capacity of 2,850 mAh. After making it bigger with the Moto RAZR 2022 it seems that Motorola is giving one step back. This could be a wrong move one time that the competition is raising, and not even in 2023 with 4nm CPUs this is a decent capacity. There are some rumors that this phone will actually be a “Lite” model. Or perhaps, it will sell like the Motorola RAZR 2023 but there will be a Moto Razr+ 2023 in the future.
The reports about the processor in this device are conflicting. While some point to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, others point to the use of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. If we go with the second, the device will be just an incremental upgrade with better displays. Or perhaps, a cheaper foldable phone? The rumors point to a 6.7-inch inner display with Full HD+ resolution. Judging by the teasers, we will know more about this phone pretty soon.
