TikTok will launch a unique feature thanks to the use of AI

TikTok is no doubt a huge social phenomenon all over the world. The short video social media came all of a sudden and conquered a huge amount of users across the world. The app is constantly a target of scrutiny. After all, the app belongs to the China-based firm ByteDance. There are many concerns about possible ties with China. Recently, we saw multiple countries across the world banning the use of the app on official devices. Despite its fragile situation – it can be banned all of a sudden – the app keeps introducing features to get more users. As per a new report, there is a neat feature coming soon – an AI-based tool for creating Avatars.

The new AI feature will let users create profile pictures based on the photos they upload. This clearly indicates that social media is now turning to the AI trend in a bid to cater to more users. The new leak, spotted by The Verge, has been uploaded by social media consultant Matt Navarra. The post provides details about how the new feature will work.

The user will need to upload up to 10 pictures, which the AI will use as a base to create up to 30 new avatars for use on their profile. You may wonder how this could be a problem for some countries… Is social media collecting images from its users? Well, we can say that the app will take safe steps in this regard. It will delete all uploaded images and AI-created avatars will also be deleted. It will give the user a little moment to download the images after they have been created. Also, these images will need to comply with the social media platform’s rules.

The feature will allow the user to pick five different styles for the AI to use. It will proceed to create up to 30 profile images based on the photos. Of course, AI is a resource-hungry feature, and to avoid issues, TikTok will limit the feature to one use per day for each user. The app will allow the user to download all of them and give the option to share them as TikTok stories.

There is no info on the launch of such a feature, but we expect it to land soon in countries where the app is still up.
