Motorola is gearing up to launch a new foldable smartphone. So far, we have been considering it as a following for the RAZR series, a Motorola RAZR 2023. However, that does not seem to be the case anymore. A new report from tipster Evan Blass points out it will actually be launched as Motorola Razr 40 Ultra. Given his good track reasons, we have strong reasons to believe in the new moniker. It may be a matter of opinion, but to me, that sounds less generic. In addition to the new name, the leak also comes with a couple of images that confirm the outer display.
The upcoming Motorola Razr 40 Ultra is confirmed to come with a larger 3.5-inch cover screen. The images also confirm a set of distinct styles for the cover screen. So the user will have plenty of options to give the phone a different visual when folded. Apparently, it will be possible to further customize it. It’s not a big surprise, after all, we’re back to the age of customizable lock screens.
Gizchina News of the week
The images tease with multiple customization options. Users will be able to tweak the fonts, colors, sounds, and wallpaper. Hence, it will be possible to create your own lock screen with a unique style.
Another leakster, SamInsider shared the alleged pricing for Motorola Razr 40 Ultra. The device will have a model with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Storage that will sell for €1,200. This one will be available in Glacier Blue, Viva Magenta, and Phantom Black color options.
Motorola Razr 40 Ultra alleged specs
The first leaks about this Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, formerly known as Razr 2023, pointed to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. With this chipset, the phone would not be able to compete with the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip5. Now, the most recent leaks point to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. If that is the case, then the device will be Morotola’s flagship foldable for the entire year. We’ve also heard about a Moto Razr Lite and a Moto Razr+. The brand is already teasing the new phone, so we expect confirmation about its specs in the coming weeks. One thing will surely disappoint, its battery has 2,850 mAh of capacity. It’s a step back from the Razr 2022 which had a 3,500 mAh cell. Despite this, it will bring a higher refresh rate – which clearly means 144Hz – a first among foldable phones.
