Pixel 7a design and key specs confirmed by leaked marketing materials

Year after year, we keep learning the same lesson – Google is not good at holding secrets about upcoming products. Their devices keep leaking no matter what happens. It happened with all Pixel phones all the way back to the Pixel 1. The Pixel 3 XL was a notable case since its huge eyebrow notch leaked several months before its release. In every Pixel generation, we are able to see the devices before their landing. Of course, this is not an exception for the search giant’s next affordable phone – the Pixel 7a.

Apart from the usual leaks that come from leaksters and insiders, we also have a leak that seems to have escaped directly from Google. Today, a new set of leaked marketing materials comes to clarify everything about this fancy mid-range device.

Google Pixel 7a design and key specs tipped again

The Pixel 7a leaked in every way you can expect. Perhaps, more than you expect as the phone even got one developer unit making rounds across the web. The phone had its specs sheet leaked, and now it’s time to have a deeper look at the marketing materials. These should appear officially once the phones get released on Google I/O.

The new leaks confirm a 90 Hz display and a Tensor G2 chipset. The CPU is not a bigger surprise, since we expect the Pixel 7a to be a cost-effective Pixel 7. Google cut some corners, but not on the performance unit. The device will also bring a Titan M2 security chip and wireless charging. This will be the first time a Pixel A phone gets this feature. Worth noting that there is a new 64 MP camera for the phone which probably uses the Sony IMX787 sensor.

The leaked materials also confirm the Pixel 7a’s design. Unsurprisingly, it follows the design of the Google Pixel 7 series. The phone will sell for about $499 in the Charcoal, Snow, Sea, and Coral color options. It will run Android 13 straight out of the box and will be among the first to get Android 14 once it becomes available. In fact, it probably will be eligible for the Android 14 beta program.

The Google I/O will take place on May 10. Besides the new Google Pixel 7a, we also expect a new Pixel Tablet and even the Pixel Fold to make its official debut. Perhaps, the search giant will also use the event to tease its Pixel 8 lineup as it did last year with the Pixel 7 series. We expect more leaks to appear in the next few days.
