This New WhatsApp Feature Gives You Total Control Over Your WhatsApp Calls

Finally, you can have full control over all your WhatsApp Calls, thanks to the latest update. This latest update takes the app to version 2.23.9.16 and WhatsApp is rolling out the update through the Google Play Beta Program. This means the feature has already passed the development stage and currently undergoing beta testing.

The WhatsApp call feature which first came into existence in 2015 allows users to make voice calls over the internet. This extra addition made WhatsApp very useful around the globe and attracted a lot more users. Global voice communication became very easy and convenient due to the WhatsApp voice calling feature.  WhatsApp Call Reply

The company has been working around the clock to make this feature as close to normal voice call as possible. Initially, it used to be very laggy but there has been a lot of improvements the past years to make it far better than it used to be. However, there are other features of voice calls that WhatsApp is trying to add to the voice call feature.

WhatsApp Call Reply Feature is Out

In making a normal voice call, there are other features like call waiting, conference call, quick reply messages and others. The company has successfully added the first two, being call waiting and conference call. This latest update is all about the third feature which gives users the ability to reply with a quick message in call notification.

This feature will add a new button to the call notification buttons making them three buttons. This new button will allow the user to decline a call with a message to the caller. Just like we do in normal phone calls, you can reply with a quick message to explain the reason why you declined the call.

When the feature is finally available, the user will see a “Reply” button in addition the “Answer” and “Decline” buttons when a voice call comes through. If the user taps on the “Reply” button, the call declines and a message box pops up. The user then types in their quick message to the caller.

This new feature becomes handy in situations where the receiver happens to be in a meeting. Or any other place where talking on a phone is inconvenient. The user can quickly decline with a text for the caller to know why the call was declined.

Availability of the WhatsApp Call Reply Feature

This new feature is currently out for some beta testers to test it for some time. Later, more testers will get the opportunity to test it as well. Finally, if everything looks fine, WhatsApp will roll it out to the global users. Make sure you always keep your WhatsApp updated in order to enjoy the feature as soon as it is out.
