MediaTek’s new generation flagship 5G chip has been officially announced, named Dimensity 9200+. A new info about this coming chip reveals that this SoC will arrive on May 10. Regarding the Dimensity 9200+ chip, MediaTek’s poster did not reveal much info. However, the company emphasized “powerful” and “flagship+”. This obviously implies that it is a very strong chip as the company calls it the most powerful SoC. Hopefully, this is not some sort of exaggeration from the company. Under the new test standard of Geekbench 6, Dimensity 9200+ has a single-core score of 2121 points and a multi-core score of 5655 points. With this score, this chip easily becomes the most powerful CPU for Android. In addition, the core frequency of this SoC hit 3.0GHz, which is one of the reasons for its strong performance.
There are reports that the Dimensity 9200+ will support a 3.35GHz Cortex-X3 super core, three 3.0GHz A175 cores, and four A510 small cores, forming an 8-core architecture. The GPU is still the core of ARM Immortalis-G715MC11. The iQOO Neo 8 Pro which will be the first phone to use this chip has obtained the Chinese network access license.
Dimensity 9200+ also smashes AnTuTu score
In addition to its appearance on GeekBench 6 score, the coming Dimensity 9200+ SoC also appeared on the AnTuTu database. The new listing reveals the running score of this new chip. Preliminary performance scores have also leaked out. The new MediaTek chip has appeared on AnTuTu and its running score exceeds 1.36 million points. This reveals that this chip will be the strongest chip in the Android camp. However, this is only on paper and for now, at least. At the moment, the first Android mobile device to use this chip is already known. After MediaTek officially announced the Dimensity 9200+, iQOO took the lead in reposting. Many people claim that a flagship from iQOO will be the first to use this chip. This device should be the iQOO Neo 8 Pro. At the moment, there is no official launch date for this device. However, since the chip will debut in May, this device should launch no later than June this year.
When Dimensity 9000+ was released last year, it also sprinted for the strongest performance of Android. The half-year upgrade of Dimensity flagship focuses on performance upgrades. It should be very strong in playing games.
The total score measured by AnTuTu is close to 1.37 million. The actual score is 1,368,597 points. This has set a new record in the Android camp and is around 70,000 points higher than the previous generation Dimensity 9200. The CPU part scored 298,850 points, the GPU part has 594,203 points, the MEM part 263,503 points, and the UX part scored 212,041 points. In all aspects, MediaTek did upgrade the chip. It also has an overall edge over the 2nd Gen. Snapdragon 8 chip.
iQOO Neo 8 Pro to launch this chip
It’s also worth noting that tech blogger @DCS has earlier reported that the V2302A is the iQOO Neo8 Pro. In addition to the flagship Dimensity 9200+, the mobile phone will have up to 16GB LPDDR5X high-speed memory and 512GB UFS 4.0 high-speed storage, making it a true flagship grade. Regardless of the chip model’s name or the running score, the overall quality and performance of the Dimensity 9200+ have been much higher. The potential has been further liberated, and the performance is now at the top. Before this chip launch, the company will probably increase the technical depth of the chip.
As of right now, neither Vivo’s iQOO Neo8 Pro nor MediaTek’s Dimensity 9200+ have been formally teased. As usual, the Dimensity 9200+ may be made available to the public in May, and the iQOO Neo8 Pro is expected to make its public debut before June.
