Samsung is already moving on to introduce its Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 foldable smartphones. The devices are expected to come only in late July or early August as usual. However, the preparations are already being made. As per Ross Young, the Galaxy Z Flip5 production numbers will be double of the Galaxy Z Flip4. Apparently, Samsung expects the new phone to outsell its predecessor so it’s playing with safe numbers.
Samsung is confident that the Galaxy Z Flip5 will sell more
The Korean firm is probably using the Galaxy Z Flip4 sales as a base. The phone sold more than its predecessor, but that is not an indication that the Galaxy Z Flip5 will keep the demand. Samsung has reasons to believe it will be a success anyway. The new handset is rumored to bring a larger outer screen. This seems to be a trend for 2023 clamshell foldable phones. After the Vivo X Flip, the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra is expected to bring a 3.5-inch cover display.
Gizchina News of the week
The Galaxy Z Flip5 and the Fold5 are also coming with a new improved hinge mechanism. Samsung is finally taking some steps to reduce the crease and make the phone look flat when folded. The Honor Magic Vs surprised the global market with its minimal crease. With the rise of competition, Samsung seriously needs to address the shortcomings of its foldable. Moving on, the Galaxy Z Flip5 should also bring new camera sensors. Under the hood, it will pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy.
Unfortunately, these devices will not bring any advancement in the charging tech. Samsung will keep its conservative approach with just 25W charging being offered. We don’t know yet if they will change the battery capacity, but the charger will be the same one available within the Galaxy Z 4 series.
We expect more leaks to keep popping out in the coming weeks.
