No matter what, iPhones generally come with a very capable camera system. But recently, Apple has been continuously pushing out ad campaigns highlighting its devices’ recording prowess. And with the iPhone 15 series, specifically the Pro models, Apple might take things to the next level.
A tipster has just dropped hints regarding the video recording capabilities of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. According to the tweet, Apple is putting additional focus on the footage-capturing capabilities of the two upcoming high-end iPhones. That could eventually spell big trouble for the Galaxy S24 series.
The Inclusion of Thunderbolt 3 Port On iPhone 15 Pro Models Is the Biggest Hint
The tipster, @analyst941, recently reported that iOS 17 will unlock features for the iPhone 15 Pro models. And most of these unlocked features revolve around the inclusion of a Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port. But the inclusion of the port is there for a reason.
According to @analyst941, Apple has ‘heavily invested’ in the video recording capabilities of the phones. Yes, high-resolution and high-framerate recording abilities are nothing new. Previous iPhone 14 Pro models excelled in that too. But this time, Apple will raise the bar by introducing ‘Recording Output’ features.
I haven’t heard anything in regards to standard 15’s so looks like it’s gonna be USB 2.0 standard.
Again, pros are Thunderbolt 3.
Apple is heavily invested into video recording this year, rather than stills.
Recording Output features,
Focus on importing to workstations
Etc.

However, the tipster did not further explain what the features would actually be. But he did state that it would be possible to import data to workstations with the iPhone 15 Pro models. Why does that matter? Well, previously, importing videos from iPhone was a challenging task.

First, you have to start the iTunes app to begin the transfer process. Then, you need to wait for hours if the videos are too large in size. Yes, you can choose the alternative method: using a cloud storage service to get your data synced.
Even with the alternative method, you still need to wait for a long time to get the large-sized videos to your primary computer from iPhones. Well, with the iPhone 15 Pro devices, the process will be much simplified.
Better Transfer Rates Mean Faster Video Import and More Features!
With iOS 17, Apple will seemingly introduce an exclusive feature on the iPhone 15 Pro models. It will allow the users to transfer heaps and heaps of data in pretty much seconds. The latest iPad Pro is already enjoying a feature that’s similar to what the next high-end iPhones will bring.
In case you didn’t know, the iPad Pro can detect external storage when you connect peripherals through the Thunderbolt port. The same functionality could end up in the iPhone 15 Pro devices. But the exclusive features might not stop there. You might be able to hook the Pro models to an external monitor and enjoy 4K video output.
That would definitely be a treat for the content creators, allowing them to get the most out of the Apple A17 Bionic that iPhone 15 Pro models will pack. Apple could even introduce 8K video recording support for the upcoming Pro models.
After all, 4K 60FPS has been within the line since 2017. Also, Galaxy devices had the 8K recording feature since S20! And let’s not forget that Apple will pack the iPhone 15 Pro models with high-end cameras. At least, that’s what previous rumors have hinted. Even if 8K recording is not possible, Apple could enhance the 4K experience a tad bit further.
Basically, the speculations about the iPhone 15 Pro models are pretty much wild at the moment. We can’t say anything for certain before Apple releases the devices. Till then, stay tuned because we will definitely keep you updated when more information about the devices comes up.
