[Good News] YouTube Music Podcasts Feature Is Coming!

YouTube Music Podcasts Feature

The YouTube Music Podcasts feature for listeners will be available to iOS, Android, and web users of the platform. At the moment, the company has only announced the feature and will roll it out in a few months. Kai Chuk, the head of podcasting on YouTube, also hints that the new feature will be available in the near future. With this update, users who watch podcasts on YouTube will be able to watch podcasts on the YouTube music app.

The video streaming platform will allow users to listen to all podcasts online and even offline. Users will also be able to play them in the background. The best part about this feature is that users can easily switch between audio and video versions on YouTube Music. In a blog post, the company writes,

“This podcast listening experience differs from our music listening experience, where you need a Premium or Music Premium subscription to enjoy some of these features. This new listening experience complements the podcast video experience on YouTube.ā€

The YouTube Music Podcasts feature will be available to users with or without a subscription package. YouTube writes that users with premium YouTube subscriptions will be able to receive sponsorship messages or host-read endorsements while listening to podcasts. The company also plans to roll out the feature update to its US users gradually.

YouTube Podcasts Tab

To access this feature, you will have to tap the ‘Podcasts’ tab available on the YouTube Music Home tab. This will display all recommended episodes and your favorite podcasts. The company also recommends creators consider uploading both versions of podcasts. If they only have audio podcasts, they should also upload a video with still images or use audiograms or other video formats.

Considering the new YouTube Music podcast feature, the company will allow creators to upload their audio podcasts directly to both platforms via RSS feeds. The focus is on providing a good listening experience with audio and video podcasts on a single platform.
