The Redmi Note 12 family is just getting a little more confusing and crowded today. Redmi already launch a multitude of variants with distinct names, and today, as expected, the Redmi Note 12R Pro is being added to the count. It comes a few days after the launch of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, and the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G launch. The phone brings moderate performance but does well in any other aspect. For instance, this is a budget phone with up to 12 GB of RAm, IP53 rating, OLED display, and 5G connectivity. Without further ado, let’s see what it brings to the table.
Redmi Note 12R Pro – Specifications and Features
The Redmi Note 12R Pro keeps the same display size as the greatest majority of Redmi phones – 6.67 inches. It’s an OLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and up to 120 Hz refresh rate. This display is quite bright with 1,200 nits of peak brightness. It has the usual centered punch-hole design for the selfie shooter.
Under the hood, we have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset. It’s not a bad chipset, but it’s the lowest on Qualcomm’s hierarchy. So this is where Xiaomi is cutting the corners. Anyway, the performance for general apps should not suffer thanks to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Internal Storage. Worth noting that it’s the LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage standards.
Gizchina News of the week
In terms of optics, the Redmi Note 12R Pro keeps things simpler with a dual-camera system. Unfortunately, there is only one sensor to write about – a 48 MP camera. The other shooter is a 2 MP depth camera. The device draws its power from a huge 5,000 mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support. The phone also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner that doubles as a power button.
