Xiaomi 14 Pro new exposure – adopts an “ultra” model feature

Xiaomi 13 Ultra

Xiaomi, the Chinese manufacturing giant, has likely launched all models in the Xiaomi 13 series with the launch of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra back in April. Now, the rumour mill is now focused on the Xiaomi 14 series which should launch later this year. A new rumour from popular Weibo leakster, @DCS claims that the Xiaomi 14 Pro will come with an upgraded telephoto camera. The rumour states that this device will upgrade to a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. Under normal circumstances, the periscope telephoto lens is limited to the Ultra version. The likes of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and Xiaomi 13 Ultra come with a periscope telephoto lens.

However, this time, Xiaomi will give the periscope telephoto to the Pro version but that is if this report is true. Additionally, the leakster suggests that the device’s telephoto performance will be improved.

The working principle of the camera is gotten from the periscope. It changes the propagation path of light, the light first enters the mirror and folds it, and then enters the sensor of the camera. In this way, the sensor of the mobile phone does not need to be at the same level as the lens. It will not only meet the zoom requirements of the mobile phone but also prevent the lens of the mobile phone from protruding too much.

Currently, most mobile phone brands only equip their top-of-the-line models with periscope telephoto lenses. We have the likes of Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra with this lens. There are also rumours that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will come with a periscope telephoto lens.

Of course, if this turns out to be true, then the Xiaomi 14 Pro will compete with other brands in the same gear.

Other rumours about the Xiaomi 14 Pro

We still have many months before the official launch of the Xiaomi 14 series. Thus, all we have at the moment are just rumours. One of the earliest rumours about this device is that it will come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. WhyLab has disclosed that Qualcomm plans to introduce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in October this year.

Xiaomi 14 Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

According to NotebookCheck, one of the earliest phones to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is the Xiaomi 14 series. The source claims that the upcoming Xiaomi flagship devices would go on sale earlier than their predecessors did. Previous Xiaomi digital series hit the market in December. So, the Xiaomi 14 series will arrive earlier if these rumours are anything to go by.

Xiaomi 14 screen rumour

Another popular leakster, @iceuniverse revealed some information about the display of the Xiaomi 14 series. The tech blogger claims that the Xiaomi 14 screen will be narrower than that of the iPhone. In addition, the supplier of the display will be Huaxing Optoelectronics.

Huaxing has a screen with very thin borders

Currently, Huaxing created a screen with a very thin border. This screen achieves an ultra-thin design with a 1mm border on all four sides. When compared to the market’s typical high-end brand mobile phone (1.45mm), the lower border is reduced by almost 23%. The display surface and its ratio will be far greater as a result of the thin bezel. Users will experience this in a better sensory way.

Huaxing was able to do some revisions to the initial circuit routing method of the lower border. This is in order to produce this screen with a screen ratio of over 100%. Huaxing also modified the new circuit structure’s design to account for the narrow border. The cables pass through to the interior of the display area. It can also be used with a variety of mobile phone forms. As a result, it avoids the bottom frame’s need for the fanout wire area structurally. Whether or not Xiaomi 14 series will use this display remains to be seen.
