Huawei Launches New Devices at Summer Event: MateBook E 2023, MateBook 14 2023, Wireless Mouse & Children Watch 5


Today, Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei released a long list of devices at its summer 2023 launch event. In addition to the Huawei Enjoy 60 Pro, the company also released the following devices

Huawei MateBook E 2023

A few hours ago, the Huawei MateBook E 2022, a 2 – in – 1 notebook with interesting specs hit the public. According to Huawei, this device has two versions depending on the storage option. Furthermore, the new notebook also comes with a smart keyboard. This smart keyboard can also be bought as a standalone device.

  • i7 + 16G + 1T (including keyboard): 7999 yuan ($1,137)
  • i7 + 16G + 512G (including keyboard): 7499 yuan ($1,066)
  • Smart magnetic keyboard: 799 yuan ($114)

In terms of configuration, the Huawei MateBook E 2-in-1 notebook comes with the 12th generation Intel Core  i7-1260U chip. The company claims that this chip offers a top – notch performance for any duty. In addition to the top chip, this device also comes with a 16GB dual-channel large memory that supports up to 1TB high – speed solid state drive.

This 2-in-1 notebook weighs about 699g and is as thin as 7.99mm. It uses a 12.6-inch OLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. In the sRGB and P3 colour gamuts, it has achieved professional – level colour accuracy of ∆E < 1, with a maximum brightness of 600 nits.

Looking at the interfaces of this notebook, the device adopts a symmetrical dual Type – C interface design. On the left, the device has a USB 3.2 Gen 1 protocol while the right side has the Thunderbolt 4 protocol. In addition, the Huawei MateBook E 2-in-1 notebook is also the first Huawei notebook to support both SCP and UFCS charging protocols. According to the company, the MateBook E 2023 notebook will go on sale on May 25. However, pre – sales for this device is already active.

In addition to the Huawei MateBook E 2023, the company also released another notebook, the Huawei MateBook 14 2023. This device is lower positioned than the MateBook E but it upgrades to the 13th Gen. Core P series chip.

This series of notebooks come with a 14-inch 3:2 2K screen. This display supports 100% sRGB colour gamut and uses a touchscreen. The weight of the notebook body is about 1.49kg, and the thickness is about 15.9mm.

The processor is the 13th gen Core P series and users have the option to choose between Core i5-1340p and i7-1360P. Also, this device comes with built-in dual fans + dual heat pipes for cooling. The memory is an LPDDR4x-4266 model with a standard 16GB of RAM but the SSD has two options – 512GB and 1TB.

In terms of interfaces, this notebook is equipped with two USB-A ports and one USB-C port. It also comes with one HDMI port and one 3.5mm audio port. Huawei has a discount for users that will buy this device on pre – sale. There will be a 200 yuan ($28) price cut if you snap it up on the pre – sale.

Huawei Wireless Mouse – Bluetooth / 2.4G dual-mode

During Huawei’s recent summer product launch event, a variety of new laptop products were unveiled. An accessory for the laptops was also released and this is the Huawei Wireless Mouse. The company is selling this device for 99 yuan ($14) but users can get it on the pre – sale for 79 yuan ($11).

The mouse has three colours which include black, white and gray. The model is CD26 SE, and the weight is about 91g. It supports Bluetooth 5.0, and 2.4GHz dual-mode wireless connection. Furthermore, this device can switch between three devices. It is equipped with 5 buttons, DPI is 1200 and supports proximity Discover. The pre-sale of the Huawei wireless mouse starts tonight, and the initial price is 79 yuan ($11).

Huawei Children’s Watch 5 – Supports Offline Positioning

Huawei has a strong reputation for producing quality children’s watches and it has just released a new watch for kids. At the Huawei summer event, the company released the Huawei Children’s Watch 5. This new watch supports offline positioning which means that it can without a network. The device also supports 10-fold AI positioning and smooth video calls.

When users turn the device on, even when there is no network, it will get a connection. Also, the AI function of the device makes it learn the more frequently visited locations. The more a user uses the watch for a particular location, the more accurate the watch becomes for that location.

In terms of communication, Huawei Children’s Watch 5 supports smooth video calls, full-scene, multi-device smooth connection, and also supports quick add for friends. In addition, it supports WeChat children’s watch version, QQ children’s version, and multiple social supervision. Parents have full control over all information stored on the watch and this includes the friends list.

In other respects, Huawei Children’s Watch 5 has a built-in 800 mAh fast-charge large battery. There is an automatic disable feature when the child is in class. It also supports green guard, IPX8 life-grade waterproof, and an app market. This device has two colours including green and midsummer purple. In terms of price, this device will sell for 698 yuan ($99) and will be on sale in June.
