Although the chip upgrade from the MT Helio G99 to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 is unlikely to result in any major performance gains, Redmi is expected to focus on offering the outstanding value for money that has been a hallmark of its tablets. This tablet should hit the market in the third quarter of this year, with the local variant, the Redmi M84, leading the way.

Redmi continues to make its mark in this niche. In China, the top three tablet brands are Apple, Huawei, and Xiaomi. And this is not surprising. Xiaomi’s previous-gen Redmi Pad, released in October last year, was widely praised. This helped the Redmi to climb the rankings.
