Microsoft today said Windows 11 will include an AI assistant dubbed Copilot. The company revealed this at its annual Build Developer event. This operating system sidebar utility assists users with a variety of tasks, including content summary, rewriting, rephrasing and more. According to Microsoft, Copilot can increase user efficiency and boost work and study productivity.

As a better version of Bing Chat, Copilot was released by Microsoft earlier this year. Bing Chat is a chatbot tool that uses the OpenAI chat robot GPT-4 tech to let users have natural – language chats with the Bing search engine. This function has been built into Windows 11 by Copilot. It allows users to access it from any app to get smart recommendations and actions that meet their needs.

The user can, for example, open the Copilot sidebar while reading an article in a browser and type words like “summary,” “rewrite,” or “interpretation,”. When this happens, Copilot will return the right outputs based on the content of the article and display them in the sidebar. Users can also ask Copilot general or special inquiries, and Copilot will look up relevant content online and respond with the right details. Users can also rapidly change system settings, handle files, or connect to other apps through Copilot in settings, file managers, or other apps.

Copilot is a true PA on Windows 11

According to Microsoft, Copilot is a true “Personal Assistant” (PA). The company claims that it knows the user’s intent and context. As a result, it offers the most suited and useful help. Copilot is not merely a search tool or a voice assistant. Copilot, according to Microsoft, is built on cloud computing and AI tech. The company also claims that it has great learning and scaling skills. Microsoft invites developers to create plugins and extensions for it.

Microsoft also claims that Copilot, one of its most recent AI tools, embodies its vision for the future of the Windows 11 operating system. According to IT Home, Microsoft intends to roll out Copilot to all Windows 11 users later this year. However, the company will start beta testing this feature with Windows 11 in June this year.
