Tencent issued an online article showing the launch of a limited-time discount for its Nintendo Switch extended warranty plan from June 1 to June 30. The extended warranty service plan is only 109 yuan ($15.43) as opposed to 159 yuan ($22.51). Well, this service is only available for devices in mainland China.
In late December 2022, Tencent initially made its Nintendo Switch extended warranty plan available. The “Nintendo Switch” and “Nintendo Switch (OLED version)” that are still covered by warranty or new buys are both eligible for this plan. Extension of the warranty by one year is possible with paid programme participation.

However, the extended warranty will not be active in some cases. Here are the cases in which Tencent will reject the device

- If there are traces that the device has been tampered with, hardware or software. In fact, if there is any trace of repair which is not from Tencent.
- When users buy the device, there are labels attached to it (serial number label, rating label, etc.). If these labels are missing or removed by the user, Tencent will not accept it.
- Data created by abnormal usage methods (methods not described in product manuals, Tencent Nintendo Switch official website support pages, software help manuals, etc.) or software not approved by Tencent are stored in recording media (the memory or micro SD card), or there are traces of saving.
- If there is severe damage to the device and it becomes hard to retain its function even if it is repaired.
- You want to repair damaged data in the recording media (memory in the main body of the device or micro SD card).
- Faults or damages caused by use in operational or commercial scenarios.
- If the device or software is not in mainland China, then it will not be part of the program.
- Other circumstances that Tencent believes should reject the application for replacement or repair.
Tencent announced the launch of Nintendo Switch in 2019. The Chinese version officially hit the public on December 10, 2019.
